Yes. Not just this. In TCS case, the price didn't reach the buyback price immediately but it reached later stage. IPO is all luck but Buyback is a strategy and is good for short - Medium term profits which is guaranteed.
I invested in symphony buyback thinking this but still it is down 15 percent from buying price

More important is where you enter and in which scrip you are entering. Second factor: now with new buyback rules it is not supposed to suffer from loss Sometimes luck matters my unaccepted shares of gulf oil lubricant trading above 1050. दो साल में माल डबल
I don't think cameonindia ka server kaam karega jab allotment aayega.. Crash hona pakka hain Bade bade khiladi linkintime and kfin jab handel nahi kar paate kabhi kabhi toah cameonindia kya cheej hain...

Never ever @Hiren rock ! The main reason is allotment for highly subscribed ips in general.
Even for secondary market, you should double think before taking loan with 1% interest rate. It is difficult to earn money like this, go gradually. Learn trading and investing with 10K first and the see how much profit/loss you make to learn better.
According to me Please don’t try.. I tried by taking loan and till now I paid 35000 as interest and zero allotment… so I am also thinking to give up and just apply in retail.. Baki aapki matzo..

It depends on the subscription. Suppose if it is not fully subscribed then you will get as much you applied and if it is subscribed multi times then you have a chance to get 1 allotment. Thanks.

Registrar not following the rules everytime delaying the allotment/boa by 1/2 day
Sorry @Imranshaikhreborn You will not be considered for allotment. That is the problem with UPI. Please use ASBA mode next time which is more stable.. If you still insist on using UPI then try applying on 1st or 2nd day..
All the best..

First day or last day
Does not matter Always lottery It depends upon your luck For that you have more accounts then chances are high to allotment So open accounts with friends and family members
@DEVBULL@Rakcyt@diwan kapoorFirst of all Best of luck to all of you.. I have a question here if anyone of you or others can answer and help me to understand the process. I have seen some BOA of oversubscribed Mainboard IPO and noticed that if applications are less in large lot thn one will not get even one base lot of that category. So what's the benefit of applying such large lot and block the amount? Anyways one will get only one base lot of approx 2 lakh if got lucky so why to apply large lot. As per me applying multiple application from different demat of min size lot of that category(shni or bhni) should be more helpful... please correct 🙏 if I am missing something.. thanks

@Gauravnnl Yes you are right and this may happen . It's calculated risk with some hit n trial error too . You can continue to stick to basic option of minimum lots for HNI .
@Gauravnnl This is my first try to apply for more than Bhni lot.. with this assumption that there will be less applicants in these catagories.. So will be less competition ..as explain by Mr @DEVBULL Ji.. So this is just for try.. Will disclose the result here after allotment..
@DEVBULL Sir Could you please explain the concept of BOA?? I am bit confused. How Much Application needed in a particular lot category to get qualify for lottery?? How the ratio is calculated??
As everybody said here that it is experimental. But what i was told that in Mainline IPO, there is lottery in case of over subscription in each cateogry like Retail/Shni/Bhni. Is this wrong assumption? By d way, I got just one time lucky (Park Hotels) with Bhni (threshold+1 lot) out of 9-10 attempts.

@smokingkills Yes, in case of oversubscription thats experimental, may or may not work. And yes, in mainline, its lottery everywhere if its oversubscribed. Further, BHNI oversubscribed only entitles you to SHNI lot if allotted.
@Rakcyt What you mean by AR. I received mail from Linkin time and I have 1 share and my entitlement is zero. So 1 share strategy will not work right?

@Jey Nayak AR= actual ratio The one mentioned in mail is entitlement but may vary once process ends. I have holding of 5_10_11 and hence ratio is 1-2-2 accordingly. No idea about 1 shares entitlement dear .
So, can I still apply for Buyback. As per mail received I am not entitled bcz I am holding only one share?

@Jey Nayak You have 2 good options 1. Still apply and try your luck 2. Sell during buy out period as price will peak . Given an opps at 8.7-9k I will sell all my holding
@Jey Nayak AR means acceptance ratio. And if you have 1 share then you get email saying "no entitlement", but, you can tender it anyways. If you are lucky they will accept it. If they do not then you can always sell later..
Or if you want then as Rakcyt has suggested sell it when price peaks during buyback period.
If a person had one share on record date he might have got email stating that entitlement is zero. Such person should tender one share in buyback. I think one share may be bought back by the company from at least 50 or 60 percent of such persons. It is my estimate which may go wrong also
Okay, then how to apply for Buyback and when we will come to know that our share is bought back? So after applying for buyback, I will not able to sell right untill I will come to know whether my share is bought back or not, or Can I sell?
If a person had 10 shares on record date and he got email that his entitlement is two. If he tenders two shares then both will be bought back by the company, for sure. But if he tenders ten shares then my estimate is 3 shares will be bought back by the company. Estimate can go wrong also but buyback of at least two shares is confirm
A person should not tender more shares than number of shares he had on record date. Profit from buyback is free of income tax ie STCG LTCG but profit needs to be shown in ITR under head Exempt Income. But if you sell shares in secondary market it is subject to STCG or LTCG
@Jey Nayak Buyback window will remain open from 6 to 13 March as per my information. Please check yourself on Google. Also your broker may stop accepting shares for buyback at 2 or 4 pm etc on the last date . u have to tender shares through your broker. On 20th March payment for accepted shares will be credited to your bank account and unaccepted shares will be credited to your demat account. If you apply on 6th March u can cancel application till 12th March some brokers allow it some don't allow withdrawal of application. If you tender shares in buyback u can not sell those during 14 to 20 March. If a person had ten shares on record date but he tenders only two shares then he can sell remaining shares at any time. Please re check information given by me from other sources also

@investormahesh All points explained beautifully and are on dot . My only worry is in case of zero entitlement weather or not he will get the option to even apply .

@Rakcyt Yes, one can apply even if there is zero entitlement, as long as you have at least one share before record date..

@rohiitian We are sailing the same boat with similar entitlement. If price moves higher the AR may go up as profit booking may happen instead of buying back option.
@rohiitian Right now the consensus is AR is slightly higher than ER, but, as price moves up lesser number of people would tender their shares and sell in open market. If lesser people tender then higher AR and higher chance for 1 share strategy to work effectively.
Right now about 50% of one share accounts would get accepted but if price moves up then here also chances improve..
@Shubham Shukla Yes, this is the understanding. But this time many are expecting AR = ER and 1 share strategy might not work for all and some are expecting AR slightly > ER where 1 share strategy will work..
So it is like a suspense movie, just wait and watch...
I still do not understand, why one share strategy is not working in Bajaj Auto? Also, even if I still tender my share but then I decide to sell in market before offer closes, will I be able to do that?

Good news for Bajaj Auto owners ( i meant shares and not literally 😄) , Mr Bajaj values this stock @ 12000. Get ready for some fuel in the fire in the coming days 😯 . If it crosses 8900 for my that's safe exit
@Vikas Lohia If you tender your share, it is blocked and you cannot sell it until it is unblocked again after the buyback is over..
So wait until last 2 days of buyback and if you get a good price, sell in market else apply for buyback and take a chance, they might just accept it!😊😊
@HappyToHelp , In Zerodha even if you place order on day-1 they place the order on exchange one day before closing. https://support.zerodha.com/category/trading-and-markets/corporate-actions/articles/how-do-i-apply-for-buy-back
@rohiitian , the price gap is pretty high attracting a lot of single share participants, thereby restricting AR for others to the extent of ER.
Btw, VR (Virtual Reality) Infra me kya karna hai ? Virtually goodbye karde or Reality me apply kare 😉

@GrayIsTheNewBlack Haha very confused. Many realty peers are at 4-5-6x sales, so it's valuation is not out of whack...Are you seeing any active trades in gray?
@rohiitian - nothing in gray now. Also, GMP mentioned in websites for VR Infra is not correct. Actual numbers were much lower (which I was getting from broker) The only silver lining is LM is Beeline (doesn't guarantee any listing gains but I feel gives somewhat assurance of at par to positive listing).

@GrayIsTheNewBlack Skipped VR Infra - didn't get comfort (wasn't sure how to value it fairly), and them not including other assets in VR group portfolio to this company is funny to me. Many other options to utilize funds are there.
