No, it was the case earlier where you were guaranteed a certain amt of shares on proportionate basis in oversubscribed issue.

Lets say, an IPO's HNI section got oversubscribed by 20X n you had applied 30 lots, then you were guaranteed 1 lot n few more shares on the proportionate basis .

Now, even if you apply 100 lots, still it would be a lottery. If you are lucky, you get the full allotment, otherwise not.

You apply 1 lot in SHNI n get lucky, you would get all the shares worth 2 lakh+, whatever the minimum SHNI lot amt is.

Its like buying a lottery ticket now. If you are lucky, you get the shares, otherwise not.

In mainboard IPO there is no extra advantage in single application of more than minimum lot or lots in retail, SNII or BNII category if that category is oversubscribed APPLICATION WISE
