Hi This is to inform you that no shares have been allotted for your ASBA application for MINDSPACE BUSINESS PARKS REIT having application no, MB00000001185053 Hold of Rs 55000 is removed and funds are now available for use
Dividend received from REIT can be taxable or non taxable at hands of investor depending on what corporate tax regime the SPVs have adopted. If they have adopted the concessional tax regime the the dividend will be taxed at the hands of the investor. Incase of Mindspace REIT, the SPV's have not adopted the concessional tax regime hence dividend is tax free in the hands of investors.
However do note the returns are divided into dividend + interest payout. There same is shown then the distribution is paid out via a statement issued by the Reit. The statement will give a break up of what portion is interest and what portion is dividend. On the interest component tax needs to be paid irrespective.
On interest portion TDS Will be deducted. One more payout will be Amortization of repayment of loans from SPVs. Which is also exempted. This is most common in EMBASSY REIT.
Dividends are tax free upto Rs 10 lakh and then it is taxable at the rate of 10%.

REIT dividends were never tax free even when dividend on equity shares was tax free in hands of shareholders till last financial year 2019-20 ( Companies paid dividend tax). Dividend from REIT are treated as distribution of rent income each quarter and will be paid after TDS regardless of amount.
Tax free equity dividends in the hands of shareholders up to Rs.10 lakh is done away with from this financial year 2020-21. All dividends received by shareholders need to be declared in income tax returns and tax paid at the applicable income slabs with other income including salary etc.

Dear praful, Come out of shock of Bonlon. Your every 3rd post is about bonlon in every page of this forum. It is better to focus on another investment or ipo, instead of weeping on loss of bonlon.
Taxation of receipts from REIT depends on nature of receipt: (1) receipts by way of interest and rental income are fully taxable in hands of the unit holder; (2) receipts on any other account/nature are tax free
Hi guys, I applied for 48 M&MFIN shares on 20th July and i am eligible for 48 rights. I have been allocated only 41 M&MFINRE shares in my sharekhan app. can anyone tell me why? how do i get back the reamining. I have not applied for the rights yet.
Contact registrar and broker for the discrepancies. If you had 48 shares as on record date you should get 48 RE. If you have only 41 RE then there is a problem. With 41 RE if you apply for 48 you will get 41 above that how much you get will depend on overall subscription.
Hi all, thanks for all the responses - it was much needed.
@Nand - Sir, as you said, i checked the holding in DP, and i have 48.. But sharekhan has given me only 41.
@Black Swan - Wish i could do it, but i think i would be entitled only for 41 if i apply now.
@Johny - Based on your response, I just looked into my mails, and i see that Kfintech has mailed me saying my entitilement is 41. So i am not sure if my broker is responsible for giving 41 instead of 48. I have mailed the resistrar for now, will call them later today. Also i will check with my broker sharekhan if they know to solve this case.
I will keep you guys updated on what is happening.
And guys, sorry for using Mindspace forum to put out this issue. I see many are facing this problem, but havent found a resolution. The M&MRE article forum is inactive. So please apologise for me using this space. Thanks all!
@CLD Thanks for your advise. I have discovered https://www1.nseindia.com/live_market/content/live_watch/rights/rights.htm link to check status in nse. But, I am unable to check subscription figure in bse. Can you please share link to check subscription status of m&mfinancial in bse? It will be very helpful for me.
