Allotment is usually pro rata, but the minimum allotment is 1 lot, i.e. six shares. So those who are getting less than 1 lot on pro rata basis will get on basis of lottery. The probability of getting allotment by lottery depends on how much you put in.

Beware !
Every one is excited about this issue due to so much response but no one is looking one important thing. Employees response?
If this issue was so good & so cheap then why employees of the company who know in & out of the company did not subscribe to it. It should have been subscribed at least 10 times in employees quota. Employees who have applied full application would have harvested gold out of this issue. You know how much? Cool Rs. 1,34,400 (192x700)per application if it lists or goes to 1732. Don't tell me that they did not have money. There are lot of financers who could have financed them for such a bonanza. Also employees of the company are not scattered as to find it difficult to apply. Exchange employees are all in the city so it was very easy for them to apply.
This is just an observation. Although I have applied in this issue because of Sreedhar's recommendation, but I have kept my finger crossed. Possibly it may just give a small benefit. But it is sure that it will not go down too much because investors who were not alloted enough shares will buy at par or at lower levels.
DEAR PLZ READ PRE IPO HOLDING PATTERN VARIOUS EMPLOYEES ALREADY HOLDING STOCK AT MUCH CHEAPER PRICE BECAUSE THEY GOT SHARES UNDER STOCK OPTION AND ONE MORE THING THERE ARE VARIOUS RESTRICTIONS ON EMPLYOEES AND MANAGEMENT FROM SEBI SIDE
THE POINT IS NOT THE UNDER SUBSCRIPTION OF EMPLOYEE PORTION THE SURPRISE IS THE PRICE BIDDING DONE BY NUMBER OF EMPLOYEE IT MEANS ISSUE IS NOT REASONABLY PRICE.
THE ONE MORE THING SOME BROKER PROVIDE EASY IPO FINANCE OPTION TO RETAIL BIDDERS. I HEARD THIS FROM ONE OF POST MENTION ON CHITTORGARH THAT SOME BROKERS PROVIDE FINANCE OPTION BY CHARGING 10000/- AS SECURITY AND AFTER LISTING THEY CHARGE ONLY 1000/- AS PROCESSING FEE AND INTEREST
Quote: The Bid must be for a minimum of [●] Equity Shares and in multiples of [●] Equity Shares thereafter, so as to ensure that the Bid Amount payable by the Eligible Employees does not exceed 200,000. The allotment in the Employee Reservation Portion will be on a proportionate basis.
Bidders under the Employee Reservation Portion may bid at Cut off Price.
Quote: We had 242 full time employees as of December 31, 2011
An employee could have applied for a maximum of 192 shares.
242 X 192 = 46464.
So the 242 employees could have applied for up to 46464 shares.
From NSE's subscription data:
Quote: Employees 250000 44034 0.18
It seems almost all of the employees applied for this IPO.
Employee didnot apply for this IPO because they seem to have interested in commodity trading instead of equity trading. why they block their money for 20 days? they can use this money as margin money to do trading in silver/gold/copper/crude contract to make more money instead of rs.400/- per share for maximum of 9-10 share.you can earn alot in commodity traing , and MCX is becoming a threat for equity trading in near future. This may be one of the reason for their lack luster response to this IPO
Employee subscription figures are of no use in most of cases for multiple reasons: 1. Generally employees quota is big for these kind of IPO's.
2. Employee's are not enough money to invest in high risk zone (i.e. stock market). Most of the employees do not even have Demat accounts.
3. Its not always 100% assured return. Risk increases when ur investment increases. I invested in a company (IT) as an employee and it listed negative as market situation changed just before listing. I have to stay invested for quite some time and keep paying interest on borrowed money.
Please note that.....risk is much higher for employees as they will surly get more shares. But offcource reward comes at high risk :)

Thanks for response. I hope nothing goes wrong with this issue so that small investors make some money in this first issue of 2012.
dont worry all...there is nothing wrong with employee quota....pls read rhp very carefully...there are hardly 290employees and SEBI have put a limit of 2.00 lacs value per employee....hence the % subscription is less...further, FT i.e. prmoter co. employee were not eligible under the scheme hence the % is less...mark words...there will be only 1 question asked one fine day....ANY SELLERS ????
Broker tumko ullo bana raha hi ipo ki physical Application biding kay time pay hi amount block hojana chihiya, brker nay koi galti ki hi allotment nahi hoga dear.
As per SEBI CIRCULAR “CIR/MRD/DP/ 01/2012 January 20, 2012” Rule No.7, the circuit rule shall be implemented with in four weeks from the date of issue of the said circular i.e. on 20th January, 2012. Hence I am of the opinion that the circuit rule is applicable to MCX IPO also. Please clarify.
The rule is as follows:
7. The above provisions shall be implemented within four weeks from the date of issuance of this circular. The date of commencement of pre-open session for all eligible scrips shall be uniform between both the stock exchanges.
We have already seen how the pre-open session or call auction trading session for existing securities works. And similarly for the new listings of the IPOs during listing day, the exchanges have introduced a Special Pre-Open Session (SPOS) for IPOs and re-listed scrips.
Salient Features of Special Pre-open Session :
1. This session shall be conducted for IPO scrips only on the first day of trading, i.e. day of listing of the scrip on the Exchange and for Re-listed scrips only on the day of re-commencement of trading of that scrip on the Exchange. 2. SPOS shall be for duration of 60 minutes from 9:00am – 10:00am for scrips participating in that session and shall be followed by continuous trading session. 3. From the next trading day onwards, trading would be normal. 4. Only limit orders will be permitted during the special pre-open session and Market orders will not be accepted. 5. For IPOs of Issue size greater than Rs.250 cr - during pre-open session, there would no Price Bands. But, during the normal trading session it would be 20% of Equilibrium Price (Listing price). For smaller issues, with size of less than Rs.250 cr., the price bands are 5%.
The above point is interesting, since there wouldn't be no 50/100 % moves after the listing price, which is intended to curtail huge swings in stock prices post-listing.For e.g., if the MCX issue price is fixed at Rs.1000 and during the pre-open session, the price discovered is at 1200, then the price band is fixed at 20% of the listing price, on either side. And because of this new method the volatility on the listing is expected to be substantially reduced.
MCX listing date is to going to be an interesting session, since this is the first time an IPO is being listed using the above methodology. Let us wait and watch, how the new method is being implemented.
i had applied thru asba form physical. I had given the form to my broker(earlier i used to give the form at the bank myself) but the amount has not been blocked from my account. I cheacked thru phone banking. My broker is saying it will get blocked on monday. Is that true or is he lyieng.
it should be bloked immediately after the execution of your order. difficult to under stand why ur brooker is aying so .pl ascertain whether your order is executed or not.if executed, get details
one cant give or take asba form except issuer bank, ahmedabad king your app. money will be deducted by wednesday evening, because tuesday is bank-strike.
There are 2 options of applying for ASBA (a) You bid at bank , where amount is blocked immediately at the time of bidding[No comission is given on the form] (b) You bid at registrar , where amount is blocked after 2-3 days of issue close[Commission is given on these application by brokers.]
So dont worry , you fall in category no. 2, your amount will be blocked on monday or tuesday..Enjoy!!
A circuit filter is bad news for MCX's HNI investors, since they could have made a killing if the share was allowed to rise unchecked after the discovery of equilibrium price during the pre-open session. The buzz from the grey market says that this issue commands a premium up to Rs 350, which means that the listing price could climb by over this amount over the issue price.
MCX's issue will be the first issue to be listed after the Securities and Exchange Board of India's (SEBI) decision to impose a circuit filter on the listing day. SEBI issued a circular in this regard on January 20. The circular says for an issue size of over Rs 250 crore, there will be a one-hour pre-open call auction method for IPOs on the listing day from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
During this period, there will not be any circuit limits. During this one hour period, any price level is possible. On the basis of the bids during this period, equilibrium price will be arrived at. After the end of pre-open session at 10 a.m., there will be normal market hours for IPOs. During these normal market hours, there will be circuit limit of 20 per cent of the equilibrium price.
Mr S. P. Tulsian of SP Tulsian.com said: “The issue is likely to find an equilibrium price around Rs 1,350 on the issue price likely to be set at higher end of the price band that is Rs1,032. With 20 per cent circult filter, one can expect maximum profit of Rs 270 on the likely equilibrium price and Rs 588 on the likely issue price of Rs 1,032.”
It is a normal practice among the HNI investors to borrow money to invest in issues. Considering the average prevailing rate of 16 per cent, the cost of borrowing will come around Rs 550. “So in all likelihood, the HNI may not make a gain with such a cost structure,” Mr Tulsian explained. The HNI category has been oversubscribed by over 150 times and cost has been calculated accordingly.
only 35%of left employees quota will given to retail investor.it means46194600/(135020+2162082)=20.10,192/20.10=9.55, it means some one get 9 and some get 10 share
Every tom-dick and harry's of the world should understand that eventhough IPO demand for shares are at 1032/share. That doesnt automatically mean those who have applied will even buy at 1400/1700 etc. If they think stock is fairly valued at 1032, there is possibility to think it is overvalued/no value at higher levels. So make ur own judgement.
its not about value gundu anna, its all about demand & supply in intial days. As per the subscription figures, demand is high and this will keep the price of MCX shares up in first few days.
