On the other hand, based on some of you assumptions, if you are lucky then even with 2.10 Lakh per IPO you may earn 1-2 lakh per IPO. If you are lucky then you then you earn 2-4 lakhs with a capital of 2.10 lakhs. That surely isn't anywhere comparable with FD. Practically, both scenarios are two extremes.

You either make 0 or you make good in IPO. For example I applied in 46 applications and alloted 1. And that's how most of retails & sHNI receive.

I support you Loki, I request everyone, who believes in Loki's theory to exit SME IPO applications in future and invest your money in FDs; if you do not believe in luck and only calculations, please exit the IPO applications. It will be helpful for people like me for future allotment chances and you will grow your own money with calculated amount in FDs.

​@Lokiiichalpthy you can put funds in ICICI Multiplier FD and use it to apply in ipos. If lucky, you will get the allotment, else you are anyway earning interest in that case.

Very relevant point have been raised by you.. Now useless to keep a heavy amount in saving a/c for applying in ipo's... to get hardly one Or two allotments in a year..that's too if you are lucky enough..Best option is to go for FD linked saving a/c .. as some members have mentioned here.. Personally I am going to opt this facility... I am exploring this facility in Icici & A U small bank..
Any one who is using fd linked saving a/c facility in these bank.. Please clarify which one is good for applying ipo's..Thanks in advance..
Currently I am using SBI saving a/c since so many years.. & getting 2.70℅ interest rate only.

Earlier I was applying through HDFC ASBA but since last two months I have opened Money Multiplier FD in ICICI for applying IPO. Since then I got SJ Logistics and Inox but after knowing that those shares are allotted then immediately transferred needed amount form other account to ICICI bank account to avoid liquidation from that FD. In this way I am enjoying applying IPO from money invested in FD @ 7.2%. So, you may think for that.

ADDING THE VALUE OF TIME WHICH WE WASTE IN following GMP, oversubscription and valuation along with following block unblock and addiction and riks of money and blood pressure it is better to have a fd or safe bonds of 5000000.

Can anyone confirm if HDFC is having linked FD facility ,so that we can use FD during IPO application process....if yes ,how to opt this scheme!!

​@Lokiiichalpthy If you have 50l and some 4 to 5 demat accounts, I think you will definitely get more than FD interest. If you are a senior citizen your rate of interest will be more in SCSS but interest paid quarterly. You have to manage interest also. Funds are blocked for longer period as well. One cannot put total funds in such FD of longer period. In shorter period FD you are not going to fetch good rate of interest.
If you believe in luck and your work, you will be in win win position. Your first priority should be good IPOs. If still funds available apply in SMEs.
Try for one year from February 24 to January 25. 50l is not a small amount. No doubt in Share Market any fund is not big. Keep faith on your decision. My decision has my luck and your decision has your luck. Share Market gives many more things other than financial gains.

​@diwan kapoor Both are good in that aspect, haven't heard recently that AU had any glitches, amount released for unblock is quick as well plus has some higher rate of interest compared to ICICI. If these particular facts are considered AU might seem a better option.

@SAJAL BHARGAVA No, currently HDFC Bank does not provide this facility.

​@MuStrFc Thanks for this clarification.. One more thing I want to know.. If you are using this facility..in any one of these banks..that weather otp is required to apply through ASBA.. or not.. In icici Or AU small..

​@diwan kapoor In ICICI one does not require OTP for ASBA application..🙏🙏

​@diwan kapoor AU is far better in flexi fd. You keep lowest amount in bank, 5k. And provides best interest rates in compare to all banks providing flexi or sweep facility. For otp, you get email too for all otps including asba.

​@diwan kapoor Good thing about au is that you dont need to visit branch. All things can be done via video calling. From account opening to creating flexi deposits to all other stuff requires a visit by any other bank!

Now a days almost all banks offer no contact services including SBI, Icici 3 in 1 and Indusind . This has been made possible due to eKYC ( thanks due to eProtean company ...remember recent IPO) .
It's less time consuming.

One more clarification to @diwan kapoor  And @Vimal Garodia  OTP is definitely not required for asba but to login to user I'd you need mpin as well as OTP in ICICI direct app. I am saying this 'cas I understand why you are asking this .

Keep in this in your subconscious and keep trying, SMEs are not everyone's cup of tea everytime.
