I asked this question earlier also but no one answered...i guess we need to try ourselves.

@ashish/@unknown: so many times i have replied for such queries. You guys can keep checking comments in different forums.
And there is no such sure shot thing or formula here....it simply depends on luck (lottery) and subscription etc. There is nothing like success ratio, it all depends on lottery/luck and will vary as per individual obviously. MY friend got 1 lot alloted in gocolors from 20 lots HNI application. As per expected subscriptions in HNI/retail, it can be easily calculated which one (retail/HNI) has more chances as per lots applied in HNI (anyways in retail, its always 1 lot per application). Lets see below examples as per actual subscriptions.

For paras: HNI 955 times and retail 100 times so 1 retail application in paras is having 1 out of 100 means 1% chances.
And 50 lot HNI application is having 5.2% chances, 100 lots - 10.4% chances and 150 lots -> 15.5% chances , 20 lot HNI -> 2.1% chances

For sigachi: HNI 163 times and retail 69 times so 1 retail application in sigachi is having 1 out of 69 means 1.44% chances.
And 50 lot HNI application is having 30.6% chances, 100 lots - 61.3% chances and 150 lots -> 92% chances, 20 lots HNI -> 12.2% chances

For latent: HNI 867 times and retail 106 times so 1 retail application in latent is having 1 out of 106 means 0.94% chances.
And 50 lot HNI application is having 5.7% chances, 100 lots - 11.5% chances and 150 lots -> 17.3% chances, 20 lots HNI -> 2.3% chances

You''ll have roughly 65 to 70% chance of getting at least one lot, by raw probability calculation method. Can''t tell exact figure due to unknown application wise subscription atm.

But that doesn''t matter, probability may or may not favor you. You may most likely get 1 lot or even more, but there''s minority chance for none always open too.

Each of your application will have 8.7% probability of allotment. If you are lucky, it can go around 17.4% (but it''s tough probabilistic scenario).

It''s hard to count Probability of multiple retail application.

@Rohit Surara - Statistically (13/15.2)x100=85.52% chance. However allotment in RII is not by statistics, but by lottery. You might get 0 or1 or 2 or 13 lots. ;)

@rohit: you chances are 1 out of 12 (since issue is subscribed around 12 times application wise in retail)
In retail, either you apply 1 lot or 13 lots from 1 application, both are having similar chances and both will be allotted max 1 lot via lottery or 0 lot.
So always apply only 1 lot in retail.

@lokesji - RII sub is 15.2 times, so is my calculation (yeh formula bhi aap jaisa guru se yahi se sikhi hai). ;)
And also I presumed he had applied 14 lots under 14 different name & PAN numbers, as 14 lots can''t be applied in 1 retail application.
Regarding 1 or 13 (or any number in between) lots in one RII application, you are very correct - chances remain same, so why block more money :).

My bad, sorry for calculation mistake, actually it is (14/15.2)x100=92.1% chance (assuming you had applied 14 lots with 14 different PAN & person application, & assuming RII sub figure stays 15.2 after all upi mandate acceptance. If 15.2 drops, accordingly chances increases, as lokes said.
And please more focus on what gurus says. I am only giving answer to confirm my understanding of formula is correct or not. Ultimately it is lottery, unless applied in hni more lots than hni sub.

@Amit Kumar Yadav - If you have demat a/c in kotak securities & apply ipo through KS, ASBA cut off time is 2.59.59PM.
