I don't know why people keep crying for face value at any face value PE remain same then why it is expensive ?

Sorry dear to comment against your views. I am against the coming with IPOs at FV of 1, 2 and 5. In my earlier post I have always been concerned with such FV. When a company want to charge high/very high premium, one come with such a FV and not 10. How many members are bothered about EPS and other things in general. They just want to know GMP and subscription figures and not EPS.
Take the example of this IPO, if FV had 10, the offer price would have been between 10k to 11k or so. Now think about the lot size. Only 1 share. **I repeat 1 share**. Only 1 share. One can't book partial profit/loss. Can one tell that how many members are asking, what is EPS. They just ask to update GMP. Members also post GMP and not EPS. I don't want to name the companies entered with such a FV and the level of share price now of those IPOs. Take the example of today's listing of split FV.

The concept of FV of 1,2 and 5 was not there at earlier time of any IPO. I just remember. Exception may be there if any. When the share price reached at very high price and out of the reach of small investors to buy, the concept of spilt came. Just to encourage the small and new investors to participate in Share Market. This concept of split FV was not at the time of IPO.

Shares at the FV of 100 was also there. At that time share market was not so common for investment. Market was not so advanced at that time. Not charging such a great premium. There was not such an awareness of share market.
In 1982, Glaxo share IPO of FV of 10 came at 5 premium. My first application and first allotment.
Dear, I am not highly educated. Only did my Commerce graduation from Delhi University in 1972. I was a person from lower middle class family. So, no time to know about Share Market.
To help my family by joining a job was my first priority. Learned a lot and still learning. There is no age limit to learn any thing. Sharing my views only as per my experience. Even today I am a small long time investor and not HNI.

I know that you respect me a lot and I also respect you a lot. I hope that you will understand what I want to say. You will not mind my views. I respect all the members.

I have stopped writing the post, but when I see comments on FV, I can't stop myself to post my views.

@PKRAJ Sir, it's not the face value but the no. of shares which decide your ownership of company, e g. a company with face value 10 and total no. of shares 1lakh is giving less ownership than a company with face value ₹1 and total no. of shares as 10000.
Also always a company's valuation or ipo price depends on fundamental factors like earnings, debt, and also on IPO manager,

face value has no role to play in it

Rather than writing such long post on FV you could have done analysis of the company. In your view with lower face value higher premium can be charged is strange. Let us say company in place of doing split had bonus in ratio of 9:1 (and SEBI had no guideline discouraging such bonus share as OFS offer) then issue price would have remained same, EPS would have remained same but FV would have been Rs 10.
Now please explain how the scene would have changed.
Forget 1982. As you said it was a different time of market. If i start regretting opportunity lost in market i would need to write the post for full day

Fund houses take stock in IPO as portfolio holding most of the time. SO why it should be different for retail investor.
Now you might say that your knowledge of the company is limited and you don't want to take risk (lack of price chart behavior) is well understood
However , around the world people take small position in such situation ( you will agree that Rs. 15,000 is small position)
Now if you want to flip the ipo position on day of listing then why do you expect profit in the trade. It is like day trade done at 9 30 AM by 3 30 PM can result in profit or loss
I believe many need to have clarity in mind why they apply in IPO. As you can always buy on day of listing. If you can solve that question for yourself your angst will go away
No one (including promoter) owes any thing to any one to give a profitable trade
