YES JUST telling not to apply with calculations does not work in stock market Demand and supply should be taken in to consideratoin At index NSE 10000 , it is fairly priced , with sept17 results it is likely to go up

Above example is not for showing about listing of this issue, it is only given for the purpose showing even after low subscription, stocks can give high returns & stocks with overwhelming response, may give marginal/negative returns.
As some investors had a view that, as QIB/NII subscription is not good they will not apply.
Apply or avoid always a decision of the investor which should be firmly taken by considering pros & cons of the issue, rather than floating decision on subscription figures.
Subscription figures may indicate demand but not necessarily everytime it will reflect 100% on returns.
I believe subscription is also a factor in taking a decision.
e.g. One of the main reason for not so good subscription of Mahindra Logistics is the valuation. I was not comfortable with the valuation and the same thinking was further endorsed by subscription figure. I have not no problem with this stock/company per se.
I believe that company has excellent potential in long term and I will be accumulating from secondary market if there is a fall.
My only thought for this low subscription from HNIs is the 4% around grey market premium prevailing and they need not run for funds and have that risk considering only a profit of 4%. But for retail they are comfortable for what ever the PROFIT they can earn. Lets see how this listing pans out.
But most retail investors ( at least in this forum ) only look for listing gains. Since most people rotate the fund and invest again and use the gain for indulgent expenses they mostly have an investment horizon of 3-5 days.
Also happy to point out that I am holding 3 of the five stocks you mentioned. Applied to MLL, willing to hold for 2-3 years. 15-20% CAGR expected.
Nice data but most of us are here for listing gains and not portfolio building so it doesn''t really matter if a share appreciates post its poor listing. How many of the scripts that you''ve mentioned had good listing?

Even considering short term, one can look below daywise returns within 1 month after listing
Rajkumar bhai, you have a solid point. collectively, we need to understand that the total process of applying an IPO is with the expectation that the listing will at least be plus 15%-20%. Only then, does it makes sense to apply for an IPO as we would be getting the shares at a cheaper rate. The whole investing phenomenen is about buying cheap and selling at premium, isn''t it? So why would anyone apply if they were to get the shares at a lesser rate in the open market on the listing day or the days that follow. Nobody is here to loose money i hope. :)
It seems after seeing boom of IPO market and seeing retail people blindly subscribing all IPOs, all new IPO companies became greedy and keeping their prices higher.
Reliance Nippon Life IPO gm started with good numbers. Mahindra Logistics has fluctuation in its gmp but its fine as of now. New India Assurance and HDFC Life seems to be in hurdles but Khadim India might give return in green. Aston Paper also coming up with ipo. Checkout current ipo gmp with daily updates.
