Lic ipo apply or avoid?

Most of psu are trade under ipo price.

I will not apply in LIC IPO. I will buy after listing at a discount.😊

Many people are wondering in which category to apply?
In my view other than discount they can get as much allotment as they want in HNI category which by looks of it (as of now) does not seem interested at all

Hi, I remember two months before Aniketiaf Sir told, He considers or Buy NYKAA if it come 1600 range. There was a heavy debate in that thread time. Now I can see NYKAA lying around the 1300 range. Day and dayout we have talked about this counter. What happen suddenly?? My Portfolio is almost down by 12%. What about you guys. Do u have any suggestions? @Aniketiaf Sir, Lokes, Noorul, Avenue, Arunarun please share if you have any secondary market value picks.

Right now.. sale is going on in market.. At a time of sale we go to market to buy the clothes at cheap value not to sell our clothes.

As of my memory Aniketiaf sir was never interested to buy NYKAA at 1600 . He just warned all forum members to avoid to buy it( that time Nykaa was trading around 2100) and described NYKAA as a waste which will certainly fall atleast upto 1600 in 3 months.
In one of his another post he replied to someone else about Paytm that it will fall upto 550 ( surprisingly on Paytm listing day only when rate of Paytm was around 1800 ) and at the rate of 550 also he suggested not to buy Paytm in stead Tata motors or Sbi can be bought.
I was also a part of that discussion.
He was a very genuine Expert . Accuracy of Buyback Ar / Er, Primary market suggestion, Secondary market suggestion, Sme ipos was also around 90% since last 4/5 years.
At least I m the person who gained a large amount from his suggestions and now missing him most.

LIC has been a rescuer for ipos like new india which were not sailing through otherwise. Who makes this IPO sail in case of under subscription, can LIC bid for its own IPO?

Hi guys Pahle gicre ,new india insurance ki baat lag chuki h dono ka discount dekh le iske bad lic me participate karne ki soche. Inke allawa bhi other psu ki discount bhi dekh le. Psu ke mostly shares discount me h nmdc, nhpc,gic, new india, and many more...........

I have given a disclosure that it is for general awareness. I found it while studying the matter and thought it may be helpful.
By the by LI is a litigation striken business. I am surprised to see the number in the industry but will not share it .Though a LIC specific negative wave is created by some persons ,It is not the ground level fact. @ Arca is right .I shall refrain from such post.

The thing is people don't like ipo page with these posts and they will unnecessarily bring issues which will start into a verbal fight
To avoid such things i told to refrain from posting such things in ipo pages.

If someone of your stature shared something then there must be something to be conveyed (an implied meaning/you wanted to suggest something I guess). Never saw shallow posts from you on serious topics so I believe there was something in it but being polite you don't want to discuss it further.

How one could hedge their MutualFund portfolio? Let's assume you've 12-15 Lakh portfolio in different schemes, and you know market is going to correct, is there any way to hedge this kind of portfolio or withdrawing is the only option??

I found on youtube that people suggest to buy NIFTY PUT options to hedge the portfolio, so if NIFTY is corrected too below your strike price, you can benefit. But I looked at the premiums and they are too high for hedging.. I just checked for the strike price 16500 and expiry-date of 31-March, the premium is 323...So it's like 50*323=16000 RS you've to pay to "secure a bit" your portfolio just for "one" month?

Please experts is there any way to get around this? Or you would suggest "averaging", I mean buy more MF units if NIFTY goes down?

With worsening market conditions, IPO may be priced attractively.. I am curious now to see the price.

Mr,Selena may not mean Gain of 100% to issue price, but it could be that the chances of Gain is 100%, which may extend to any extent starting from Rs. 1.

Just a thought came in my mind about IPO & OFS
Some people says it's not an IPO, it's OFS
Some times people recommended to avoid as it's OFS

LIC is an OFS and most famous among all of us :

For learning, sky is the limit.for . Even I am also a learner. As you stated, "LIC IPO will be entirely an offer for sale" Absolutely correct. It is "LIC IPO" which is consisting of OFS. The total amount will go to the promoter, the GOI. As I told IPO can be of OFS or issue of new equity or both. New equity amount will go to the company. Hope it will be clear now. Kind of issues : IPO, FPO. RIGHT and BONUS are for share holders. Preferential issue is also there but not for public to best of my knowledge. All have right to ask and explain.

Just to add the case where FPO is not bad at all, if company does need money there is no point in diluting the Equity. Some companies may put up a new factory with IPO money and some may pay off debt. But some companies does need money as these have free cash flows from operations and also financial companies can raise cash very cheap so these need not dilute equity.
