If PH category is subscribed 20x, then if you have applied 1 lot then your chances of allotment of 1 lot will be 1/20 means 1 out of 20 people who applied 1 lot, will be allotted 1 lot. And if you have applied 5 lots, then your chances of allotment will be 5/20 means 1 out of 4 people who applied 5 lots, will be allotted 1 lot.
And if you have applied 14 lots, then your chances of allotment will be 14/20 means 14 out of 20 people who applied 14 lots, will be allotted 1 lot.

yes i didn't wrote anything about my opinion in this ipo/company....
i have read a lot about this ipo and company fundamentals etc. In my opinion, government has done enough homework and left a lot for investors here by reducing the ipo price and company valuations by taking hit indirectly on himself. LIC market cap to Embedded value ratio is around 1.1, which is much below than expected of 2 around earlier and much lower than other insurance companies. One reason for making this ipo lucrative and low valued in comparison to other insurance companies is the high future growth in them and low growth (or degrowth) in LIC and market sees the future mainly. LIC is still more dependent on agents rather than technology and digitization, and it has enough growing customers in small cities and villages but lesser in big cities.

In my opinion, it should have good subscriptions and good listing (with some impact of market conditions) and it may have good movement after listing for some days/weeks. But for longer term, i am not convinced to hold it, somehow i still feel due to PSU tag and government interference in future, it may not keep performing well. Means as per valuations, it may reach around 1400-1500 in 6-12 months or sooner/later.....but beyond that, i don't expect much. I will apply here for sure in policyholder category and in retail application due to more comfort there as per discounts and i may apply in HNI also if subscriptions are really good. i will try to book my profit here partially soon and remaining as per further movements with some stoplosses.
So whoever wish to hold for longer term, then better to have stoploss and keep trailing that with share price movement to protect capital and profit.

Stop losses are very important sometimes like as i mentioned in below thread in uma export in my comment no. 5th and 7th and that is below issue price now. Having belief in something is ok but we shouldn't be too rigid when that belief is not working.

@Kundan... simply apply for 14 lots (210 shares ) at cutoff for a total value of 199290/-. discount will automatically apply.

@iposandy @RKFORIPO @WealthyRam : you can check this post to know about allotment in policyholder category, with examples.

@bullish: in policyholder, it is not like that everyone will be allotted 1 lot first then remaining proportionate....its all proportionate allotment there...

its already 5.33 times now, if we consider final 7 times subscription in policyholder category then whoever applying 7 lots will be allotted 1 lot and whoever applying 14 lots will be allotted 2 lots and whoever applying between 7 to 14 lots, will be allotted 1 lot plus some share proportionately, and whoever applying 1 lot to 6 lot will be allotted 1 lot (minimum allotment is 1 lot) via lottery with more lots more chances as explained above in original post.

I have applied for 1 lot in policy holder thru ICICI direct as I was not aware about this proportionate stuff.

Can I cancel the ICICIDirect bid (after the subscription time) and apply through IIFL for max bid today?

First try cancelling/deleting your policyholder bid now itself in icicidirect and once done successfully then you can apply again in policyholder category for 7 to 14 lots (anything as per funds availability and how much allotment you need etc as i explained above) from IIFL or from icici direct also.

Completely agree with you reg Stop Loss. Many people even though might be knowing about SL but will fail in implementation because of greed/lack of time/knowledge of identifying SL.

Yes even I am trying to implement almost same strategy for applying LIC except I may not bid in HNI due to lack of discount, adverse market conditions, poor FII subscription, war and its affect on commodities, inflation, government interference in running the company.

Better to be safe than sorry.
Always try to follow 2 rules:-
1. Never lose capital.
2. Do not forget rule no 1:)

@Shah Newbee... Why do you want to wait till subscription time being over, to cancel PH application. PH allotment of 1-2 lots is almost certain.
I suggest you cancel right now, and if have funds for 14 lots, make a fresh PH bid, even on ICICIDirect site, after seeing your cancelled application status.

I mean agar Retail Ind 2x/3x hoti hai aur me 14 lot ki application karta hu to allotment kaise aur kina hoga?

@Ipo HSL: In retail category, it will mostly be oversubscribed application wise as per final figures (after all technical rejections/removal/non acceptance of mandate etc).
So in my opinion, apply 1 lot only in retail category here. Both 14 lot and 1 lot will be having similar chances in retail category and mostly will be allotted 1 lot here.

@IPO HSL.. apka sawal bahut aasaan hai aur mein hindi mein batata hun kyonki adhikter jagah iska jawaab english mein milega.

agar retail applications 1x se jyada ho jati hein, jo ki LIC mein abhi ho chuka hai, to adhiktam applicants ko, lottery se, 1 lot hi milta hain, usne chahe 1 lot apply kiya ho ya 14 lot.

Isliye aap kewal 1 lot apply karein retail mein. Agar aapke pass e3ik se jyada accounts hein to har account se 1 lot apply karein.

First check if your policy is updated with PAN till 28th Feb.If it is linked then you are eligible . Allotment in PH is proportionate basis .

There is no any SH category in LIC

In SH Category shares will be distributed proportionately, not like retail
(lottery). So apply 14 lots if pocket permits in SH Category & 1 lot in retail as it seems retail category will oversubscribe application wise. Hope you are enlighten
