In LIC ipo if you are policy holder, apply 14 lots in policy holder category, there will be better chance of allotment.

@abdul: it all depends on how much funds you have to apply and how much HNI subscription....so you can wait till monday 9th may 2.45pm and as per hni subscription you can apply or if hni subscription is more and you can't put that much lot application, then better apply 1 lot in retail to have discount also....and that will have very good chances in lottery...

Not an expert but a commoner like you...
But since you asked, as you told here that (i) you apply in SMEs ipo so it seems that you can arrange funds, (ii) you asked about category to target, so i can deduce that you are a policy holder so - apply 1 lot in retail (allotment criteria is lottery here) and full capacity 2 lakh amounts application in Policy holder quota to increase probability of getting allotted (allotment criteria is proportionate basis here). (iii) under 2 lakh applications is akin to testing your luck better use it in upcoming ipos like Venus/prudent.
Analyze what you deemed fit and if it suits your requirement..

You are not eligible for PH quota

@ Vibhor ji....my knowledge says 28th feb was cutoff for taking policy...i have this policy for last 10 years...its now showing properly linked as i updated PAN yesterday,,, I guess i am eligible .......Anyone having more info on this ...... please clear the confusion

Vibhor Saxena is right, you are not eligible for PH quota.

28th Feb 2021 is also cutoff for update PAN in Policy.

28th Feb 2021 was the cutoff date to update your PAN in Policy.
Now you have to apply in the retail category.

After feeding correct inputs, if it says,

"Your PAN details are available in our records as per input provided for the policy number"

Then you are eligible under PH category.

The last date for linking your PAN with your policy to make you eligible for LIC IPO as policy holder was 28 Feb 2022. At this stage, even after 48 hours if your PAN gets linked with Policy even then you will not be eligible to apply under policy holder category. You are retail only.

PH Quota allotment is (i) on proportionate allotment and (ii) quota is already oversubscribed so no use to divide funds. if its possible apply as much as you can in 1 single application (max limit is 2 lakh here).

From your question, only for PolicyHolder category,
4 lots from 1st PH account
1 lot from 2nd PH account
1 lot from 3rd PH account

If you want to consider Retail category also then
Apply 1 lot in Retail and 1 lot in PH categories from all 3 accounts.

The question by Sanchit Mahajan is very interesting. I will just add a small variant to the original question. Money available for six lots, eligible to apply in PH & RII quota from three accounts, PH quota subscribed 3.5 times and RII quota subscribed 1.5 times on application basis ...how should one apply. Various thoughts invited and would appreciate to hear a reasoning for the same too. Thanks
