If anybody is applying in LIC IPO for listing gains then there is something wrong with the thesis.

Apply for long term, only!

I THINK AFTER CLOSING IPO AND MONEY GONE IN POCKET OF GOVT, I.T. DEPT. WILL ACTIVE TO RECOVER RS. 70000 CRORE WHICH ARE RECEIVABLE FROM LIC AND WILL ISSUE NOTICE TO LIC. POLICY HOLDERS AND RETAILERS WILL EAT SEEDS AND GOVT. WILL EAT FRUIT JAM AND EMPLOYEES WILL DRINK FRUIT JUICE.

dont think subscription is less by numbers, think how big is ipo size, its rational number by current market situation, and we can atleast get 10 to 20% listing gain .

i have seen similar messages during ruchi soya for application cancellation, and the rest is history,,, dont panic,, just see next tuesday... you want regret...

Exactly. People are just seeing subscription numbers, without seeing Issue Size of LIC. LIC issue size is 21000 Cr., whereas other IPO's issue size ranges between 100 Cr. - 8000 Cr.

CONSIDERING ISSUE SIZE OF 21000 CR., THIS SUBSCRIPTION NUMBERS ARE WAY BETTER THAN OTHER IPO's.

Don't see subscription numbers blindly.

I had cancelled 6 Lots applied in policy holder category and 1 lot applied in retail category.

Cancelled another 2 retail applications also.

How to cancel bid after accepted by exchange. I also want to cancel my bids.

Looks like QIB & HNI remember history of The New india Insurance and GICRe. They all would have burned there money so much that they will remember it for life long.
Poor retailers and Policy holder had forgot what happened to these stocks as they had only 15000 rs at stake.

Agreed these companies have wiped out investor money but here is LIC which is brought with reasonable valuation compared to the above companies due to current market conditions.

Remember IRCTC price it around 300 and very cheaply and have rallied by more than 10 times and on listing day itself gave more than 100% return to investors.

Even if LIC is able to manage to give 10% profit without considering discount given to PH and Retailers returns will be huge for QIBs and HNI as the issue size is big. Remember it was planning to price it above 1800 before Russia-Ukraine war and now due to changed circumstances have reduced the valuation by half which is huge.

Note: Finally Government has to save its face and priced at attractive valuation and LIC is a monster. It has AUM of close to 240 lakh cr more than the assests managed by entire mutual fund industry.

IRCTC is completely different, a monopoly, the value and volume of stock is so less that it can hit upper or lower circuit. So we cannot compare IRCTC with LIC.
Why i compare it with New india and GICre is, both are saved by domestic institutional investor. As per report FII is almost negligible in LIC,
So who is going to consume the selling pressure of LIC on listing day.
Even I have applied in policy holder. So that I can save this nation.

Applied with full confident very few chance will be listing below 904/- level.profit will be market situation at listing time.because lic is nation's pride.

What if nobody sell on listing day? since it is just 3.5% and everyone is thinking to buy on listing day at discout . What if all ipo bidders don't sell on the listing day then everybody who had applied will get profit

This is highly overrated IPO. Also HNI and FII who takes loan for IPO would be out quickly after making quick bucks to another opportunity. Seems another trap for retail investors.

If anyone interested I can share an awesome link to logic that why keeping LIC for long term may be disaster

For all members :

I have applied only from retail(2-3 applications) and not form policyholder
reason :

LIC have embbeded value of 5.4L crore on premium collection of 4 lakh crore whereas private players with better margins and growth profile have the embeeded value of only 30000 crore on premium collection of 40-50000 crores

How

ideally, LIC should have embedded value of 3L crore at the most and then MCAP/embeeded value ratio would be 2, which is okayish

so applying only in retail, policyholder application can get cancelled at the last minute and one can get trapped

I would advise the members to think about this and take appropriate action.
