Agar koi 5,10 years hold karlayga tho loss nahi hoga

Let us see whether this calculation stands firm till listing date. Markets are very volatile. It is very difficult to predict how much grey market premium finally remains.
Maximum shares are in weak hands who have calculated profit as per retail and PH discount.
Big fishes know all this. Hope small investors get some listing gain.

Baki market kharab tha fir bhi iska gmp 40 to 50 toh tha hi.

why guys compare LIC with PAY TM AND RPOWER ....
EVEN PAYTM MAKES HUGE LOSES AMD PROMOTER DONT KNOW WHEN THEIR OWN COMPANY BECOME PROFITABLE....IN RPOWER WHEN THE IPO CAME IT WAS HARDLEY ONE YEAR OLD COMPANY AND MAKE 70 LK PROFIT ....

IF LIC MAKE NEGATIVE LISTING THEN BRAND VALUE OF LIC WHICH IT MAKES ITS OWN IN PAST MANY DECADES WILL BE ZERO AND MARK MY WORD IT WILL BE NEVER DO UNFAIR WITH ITS POLICY HOLDER, AND SMALL RETAIL INVESTER.

LIC is not doing any unfair treatment for policy holders and retail investors. All is doing by Government of India, which collected huge sum of money from policy holders and retail investors at this time when market is not favourable for IPOs.

Occasionally some of the predictions can go wrong and the opposite thing could happen due to market sentiments. Out of these, more than 10 lac applications will be rejected due to various technical reasons.

Also many applicants will not approve UPI Mandate due to fall in GMP.
Final data must be around 60-62-63 lac applications

It is understood that all policy holder applications will be allotted shares on proportional basis. Since the minimum lot is of 15 shares, does that mean that all policyholders who applied for one lot will be allotted 15 shares?

No.

For policyholders it is proportionate basis. So if we consider 0.12 time technical rejection out of 6.12 times subscription in this category then

Policyholders who applied between 1 to 5 lots will be selected in ratio basis
(1 lot - 1 out of 6 will get 1 lot, 2 lots - 1 out of 3 will get 1 lot, 3 lots - 1 out of 2 will get 1 lot, 4 lots - 2 out of 3 will get 1 lot, 5 lots - 5 out of 6 will get 1 lot) and

Policyholders who applied between 6 to 11 lots will get FIRM allotment of atleast 1 lot and

Policyholders who applied between 12 to 14 lots will get FIRM allotment of atleast 2 lots.

Today felt very sorry for poor listing of Rainbow. In this whole chapter the innocent Retail public gets hurt and lost their hard earned money. Still the Retailers don't come out the Paytm , Cartrade an d so on. Actually we can't decide whether to apply or not and just follows the others blindly and one may have to consider the individuals risk carrying capacity, which we don't. We are just following the others and gets trapped.
In LIC ipo the subscription figure of QIB & NII is not very encouraging. In fact the success of LIC is just due to Retailers and policy holders only. This govt is master in PR and they gave the 60/ Rs. discount which attracted the innocent Retailers and policy holders. The clever govt was knowing this fact and they succeeded in their game plan. They sold it at very very high valuation and the the complete funds will be utilized by the Govt not by LIC. Let's hope that we may not see another poor listing of LIC, just like Rainbow, Paytm.....

@Maria: There is nothing like 'innocent' retailer in this market. If someone can not find out whether the valuations are high or low then instead of following others, he should just stay out of stock market and keep his money in some FD at 5%.

By the way, just a few days ago, opposition accused government of selling LIC stake at a very low valuation. You are saying it is high valuation.

I just can't understand how LIC is comparable with Paytm?

Paytm is just few years old App, Loss making and having No assets. If Investors before investing, did not read RHP of Paytm where in it was clearly written that No chance of making profits in future, then who is at fault ? Those who read RHP didn't participated in IPO of Paytm.

In complete contrast, LIC is in existence since 1956, Profit Making, having Uncountable Assets, having visibility for future 15-20 years business ( As policy premium terms are long ), Market Leader, Wealth creator for Government as well as Policy holders.
