Just hold , you will have decent profit .

In my opinion, if you do not want to hold for too long, then time is about right to sell. It won't cross 900-950 range easily as there will be huge selling pressure in that range.

Lic ofs of 1/2 percent likely to come soon....despite sebi asked to grant 10 year ....as 900 lavel is govt comfort zone to float ofs evey quarter ...???

January, first 3 week can dull, after then budget will be come, then some up can possible due to budget hope

Just a word of caution.. I see LIC in the list.. request everyone to do their own analysis ...

It may be noted that one and a half month ago , in response to a query of a CA final exam appearing friend in this forum, this gentleman advised him to sell LIC shares at the prevailing price around Rs 615. The said friend replied that he will sell it after the exam is over. Fate of the friend can't be known unless he himself reply.

Experts must have the ability to make you buy a share at a high price and sell one at a low price.

You are correct at your spot

But As everyone knows the company has been extended to maintain its minimum shareholding till 2031

That minimum shareholding would have been a havoc for the company which was around
75000 cr that time and it was a hanging sword which has now went out of the story and made LIC a Re-Rating candidate

I never do that like saying someone to sell at low prices and say to buy at higher prices
It's just an exception
It's just a change in the dynamics of the company and not my personal perspective

If anyone still feels that I have done anything wrong then I apologize for that

​@Asoke sarkar dada, I too have noticed that the recent decision by government for special exception in shareholding reduction rule for LIC is the main reason for its turn around and agree with @newgen consultancy suggesting to exit before that exception. He did suggest many stock which were great buy to recover even loss from LIC. Now coming to sandalwood tree.. would you not like to present your review  now?

​ @newgen consultancy Could you please write few things about the share that you are recommending, it just brings a better clarity and trust to buy a share rather than just name of 10 different companies, I remember you wrote a post about Wardwizard that made me comfortable to buy that share even though it’s 3-4 percent below my buying price, i am not anxious and writing everywhere “should i sell or not” because i know your logic behind it, you wrote about RBZ being dark horse and it is already almost 30 percent up, I am sure there many people like me who are doing a job and are interested in money market but don’t want to go through the mutual fund route because you don’t know where they are investing your money but with buying a stock by yourself it feels more personalised. I can still write more after writing this much but I’ll just end this message here.Thank you for all your efforts and recommendations, i prefer buying your recommendations when you have mentioned your reasoning about them, Have a great day and Happy new year!

I admire your effort .
As to your response, I beg to revert lest people should think that present run of the LIC share owes it origin to the relaxation in the MPS norm. But the fact is like as follows:
1. MPS norm news came on 21/12/23 night.
2. On 21/12 it closed at 764 in contrast to 761 of the previous day.
3.On 22/12 it opened at about 810 made a high of about 820 but closed at 792.
4. On 26/12 i.e the next day it closed at 781.
5.On 27/12 it opened flat and thereafter gave a good move.

But it's actual run up has started from 24/11 after making a day low of 598 On about 15/11.
1. On 24 /11 it closed at 677 while previous day closing was 617. A big jump
2. This movement brought it 815 closing price on 14/12 i.e one week before the MPS news.
3. So the mps news could not make it sustained above the 14/12 high.
4. So within one month of your sale advice the share moved from 615 to 815 without the MPS news.
I am not presenting these much data for finding fault with you.
I am just mentioning this data to ponder over that something is cooking beyond our understanding.

Everyone knows that share market's big players digest all the negative or positive news before common retail investors come to know. Same happened in the case of LIC. I think so. LIC is below ipo price. If psu are fancy now a days then it will be. Big hangover is away from stock.

Share price is mostly adjusted before the news comes to market as bigger players have the hint before it reaches to open platform.

I think it's not right to criticize @newgen consultancy  for any recommendations regarding sell / buy for any stock.
You can ask for a stock but one should take their personal decision.
We should not blame anyone if going by free tip.
There are multiple fundamental and technical reasons behind any stock at any point of time / price.
If you ask a view to different stock advisors, you will get contradictory views at the same time.
That's why, do your analysis before act.
(By the way, you were in the support of LIC IPO, at that time, and we all know the result. Luckily I haven't followed you blindly and saved my money with a smaller loss)
