no bro , no problem as long u are filing return of income properly and u have the source of income , i mean if u r not filing return of income for last few years and suddenly u made the trasanctions of 25 lakh in share market then u may be subject to scrutiny.. however for example u have 6-7 yearly income and filing your return of income regularly then it shows that u have sufficient source of income to apply shni or big hni.

in case u earn capital gain then pl dont forget to show it in return of income

small tip long term capital gain till Rs.1 lakh is exempt every year , hold stocks for 1 year and more and enjoy the exempt long term capital gain till 1 lakh every year, else short term capital gain attracts 15 % of tax

small discl. I am income tax officer myself and tax planning is advisable but not tax evasion

by the way shni have worst chances of allotment so have patience , retail has better chances compare to shni , however profit/loss is always 14 times compare to retail

if you had applied in sai silks kalamandir ipo you would have definately got...
if u want to check whether there is any problem in your account then apply a retail lot in any low demand ipo where retail subscription is less than 1 time

By Applying in SHNI its no worries about the income tax department if you are filling your ITR perfectly without any issue or correction. We are already applying in SHNI since long time. We never faced any issue from Income Tax Department.

Apply SHNI/BHNI whatever you want,
But when allotted and making profit, give the applicable income tax.
Earn more and give more tax.

Do not worry on income tax if you are a tax payer and properly can account for income.
I have been applying for last several years in hni and no query ever recd.
And as far as allotment is concerned, try opening more demat and trading accounts in your family members names and apply through them also in retail.
And yes, there are better chances in retail than shni.

Should not be any problem, if you file your returns regularly..

Leaving aside the Incometax concern, which is not true and you should not be worried if you are law abiding citizen

Your best chances of allotment are Retail and BHNI if the issue is fully or heavily subscribed, chances of allotment are the least in SHNI ... This is my experience

1. If first application successfully cancelled then you don't need to worry much!

2. If both application successfully submitted then your application would be rejected for particular pan.

3. If one payment is unblocked which generally happens on last day of application or late for UPI then you are good too. I don't use UPI due to such headaches and use ASBA only. UPI folks can give more insights for such unique case.

I see your case falls in #3 (ONE SUCCESSFUL CANCELLATION and ONE SUCCESSFUL APPLICATION).

More, I would suggest everyone to use ASBA for safe and reliable bids. Cancellation is more reliable too.

​@Manan Surana I use ICICI ASBA and lot of allotments considering many accounts! Sorry i don't use national bank and not fan of it due to down time, low management, late unblocking, slow outward, less customer support and fan of bank+demat together like ICICI.

Highest charges - ICICI/HDFC/all banks
To make lower charges in ICICI - Subscribe to neo prime (life time plan)
Use ICICI only for IPO, use low charging demat if you are doing regular trading or secondary market.
