Sebi holds HDFC Mutual Fund IPO to probe past lapses
Sebi has kept HDFC Asset Management Company's proposed IPO in abeyance "for examination of past violations," the latest update with the markets regulator showed. However, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) did not clarify further.
Maximum loaning is to corporate sector which is most risky. Most PSUs and private banks like ICICI are bleeding due to lending to corporate sector only. On the other hand, banks like HDFC whose maximum loaning is to retail sector are performing well. This fact should be kept in mind while taking investment decision in this IPO.
Very high portion of total loan book to Corporate and SME. Corporate 76%, SME 22%. Housing and Vehicle finance consist only 2%. Housing finance considered as safest. Corporate and SME finance both are risky.
Company commenced operations in 2011. Average cost of acquisition of promoters and other shareholders is around Rs.130. They will be getting nearly 5 times their investment in this period. Isn't it too much demand in short span. It seems to be fully priced on valuation basis also. Many such NBFCs already listed in secondary market. What is different in it?
With my limited knowledge I answer this query. Under retail category maximum shares that one can apply is limited to Rs. 2.00 lakhs. Whereas under HNI Application Money minimum is above Rs. 2.00 Lakhs and maximum there is no limit. If the issue is good and one senses that the issue will be under subscribed , one can apply under HNI category to ones heart content and receive allotment. Case in point is MIDHANI IPO.
Thanks for reply. In addition to this, what is the difference in process of allotment. To my understanding in RII we either get allotted one lot or NIL. What happens in HNI? e.g. if subscription in 5 times in HNI, and I had applied for 4 lacs. what will be alottment to me
Allotment in an IPO cannot be generalized . Allotment is specific to the issue based on demand and issue seize. Higher the over subscription different is the ratio . Moderate and lower subscription has different ratio. This is decided by Lead Mangers, Company and Registrar to the issue . When the subscription is more or higher allotment is a lottery and one receiving the allotment depends ones's FORTUNE or the lines on ones' Forehead.
