When i try to apply via HDFC asba online form by default it selects the investor type as retail which might cap me for the maximum amount i can apply for. what is i want to apply as HNI anything specific we need to enable to do it ?
Also was wondering through online form it says "Retail Investment Value (Rs.): 14040-200000" Which likely means for a retail investor it will allow a mixmum of 2Lakhs however when i apply via UPI or zerodha app then i can apply for more lots however it caps me with UI limit of 5L
Can someone please please help me understand this better ? and how can i apply for HNI category ?
Can you please share the link from where you are applying ? I open my netbanking and then select IPO where there is no such drop down t select it have all static values and says retail investor in investor type ..

Hi Shilpa,
You are correct. I misread it as HDFC Securities which is having the dropdown option. In HDFC Bank ASBA there is no option to select HNI category and default is Retail. You can try to enter the number of shares you want to apply in HNI category and try to submit. If issue persists then its better to wait for a day, it may be a glitch in their system.
@Shilpa Agrawal - I used HDFC ASBA , you need to select the amount more than 2 lakhs , while submitting it will give pop up as 'considering this app as HNI as you're applying more than 2 lakhs' .You just select ok and proceed.
@Shilpa Agrawal. I am using HDFC Bank ASBA, You should fill the share, you want to bid...the amount automatically generated..If is higher of 200000, one pop up show that your application amount is higher of 200000, hence HNI, and you can't modify or withdraw the bid, you should accept it, then HNI application will submitted....

In retail you will get 1 lot if selected, but SHNI you will get 14 lots, thus 14 times profit of retailer. Yes on the other hand SHNI will have higher subscriptions than retail. If you have money then put 1 shni and 1 retail simple
