No one can get allotment at lower price as well as shareholders I suggest all retail should applied at cut off price then Jo bi price decided hoga osi price pe allotment aayega waki refund Ho jayega wasi to aajkal normally upper price par hi allotment hota h
No way bro. Retail Investor shall always apply at cut off. If not confident about the issue we shall not apply. The pricing is mainly controlled by the HNI/Institutional investors.
So ASSUMING this is correct, even if the retail application multiple was 1.44; actual allocation ratio will be lower for anybody who has applied for more than one lot. This will be so because a large number of people would have applied for ONLY one lot and they all will get 100% ( 1 lot ) allocation as well.
Pankaj, i am about to move to Australia ( Sydney ) in next couple of months (PRP). Is there anyway I can get in touch with you for a few queries related to investment in India while based in Australia. Thanks
Very correct, from the begining itself i''m maintaining allotement will be 44 or 44+proportionate, as per ur bid size, when people were telling FULL & FIRM ALLOTEMENT.
Thanks so much Septa. Really appreciate your positive words. Am rather new to the forum and have liked your various posts. Obviously did not have a clue that you have any linkage with Australia as well. Do have some queries related to how my movement will impact my current investments and also my future activities, particularly in relation with Indian stock market. Wonder if could request you for a broad idea. Thanks ..
Septa / Pankaj - my mobile number *********, hope this is not against the forum rules. Will appreciate if we can have a brief chat. Will help me immense. Thanks
both the countries have signed a tax treaty if you go to ATO.gov.au u will get more info in this regards.
So rule of thumb is any income which happened in the country will be taxed in that country and expected in the other country and with 183 days rule to determine tax residency
I think there is some confusion on the figures. If I take 47982845 shares will be allotted to all retail applicants as confirm allotment. Then balance shares 9139589 shares there is bidding of only 22308915 shares and not 33230727 shares ( consider only cut off price shares ) ... all those applied below cut off can not get allotment.so ration will go up from 3.64 to 2.44 ( means 18 shares and not 12 shares additional for every lot ( i have applied for 5725 shares and expect to get atleast 260 shares....hope my calculation is correct.
Friends, I have a query. I applied for RBL ipo in my friend''s account. N I got alloted. Now I wan to get those shares transferred into my account. How do I do without both of us getting into trouble from tax point of view. Can I get those shares transferred directly from his demat to mine?

Your friend has to issue " Delivery Instructions Slip " making you as beneficiary & submit it to his broker. The shares will then get transfered to your DP AC within 24 hrs of submission.
From IT point of view since you have invested, you can justify it as tempotary non interest bearing loan to your friend & in return he can justify transfer of shares in lieu of loan at IPO price. Note that while your bank account will show a debit, your friend''s bank account will not show any debit or credit. As such, your friend may not have to explain anything since IT officers will only scrutinise bank accounts. Investing in family members names is acceptable to IT officers but in friend''s name they may raise doubts. This is my thinking only. Members who have got experience in this matter may throw some light on this important topic.
Sharing of real experience with IT officers on this aspect by any member will be of great help to others.
Thank u so much my friend. Some of my doubt has been resolved. How can I justify the matter to IT officers is a bit doubtful, if someone can put light on it, will b helpful. What if I sell the shares after one year?? Then there will b no income tax on it.
Ashish Khater, a very good question. Everyone is talking about profits and you are talking about the proper keeping of accounts. CLD, thanks for explaining. This is also in the minds of many investors. You have brought out this question in this forum.
But I got a question too, Do you think applying to one lot or 2 lots in retail category is a big deal? After all, we are getting just 3-5 k profit if we flip per lot. For this small amount, do you think IT will ask us explanations?
This is another query that experienced boarders/or with CA knowledge can explain.
Moderators, I request you start a thread or put a FAQ on tax aspects of the IPO trading activity. Please do not postphone it so that all can benefit.

Ref to Bangalore king''s msg, as reply option is not working.. Good that sebi is working on reducing timeline for listing to 4 days. Retail limit to be enhanced to 5 lakhs.... As most of the retailers are applyng only for one lot, due to the changes in allotement formula in retail, it will make more sense to increase the retail quota to 40% from present 35%, as many applicants are applying for one lot as making a full application does''nt make any sense.
considering the over subscriptions in retail category, the suggestion of increasing the eminently sensible and hope will be looking into your suggestion. Increasing retail limit to 5 lakhs is practically useless for retail investors. Look forward for SEBI to act. Pridhvi Haldia who is an expert and is also on the committee has been suggesting to SEBI to 100 percent reserve the the companies in which the Government is divesting its stake. Further he also was suggesting to give good discount to market price. Look forward to other boarders views.
hii, i dont think there is any down fall in market in near future one thing, Secondly you dont need to be worry about the alotment if you got shares then ok else purchase in live market. Filling IPO for me is just come to know about the company. It is totally "satta" and if your intution says that company is good and you can bet on it the go ahead. I hav filled 4 application and i would also like to purchase 5000 shares of icici insurance on listing day.

Now the Big question to get the mood of this ipo - is how is subscription nos. and ratio of company employees .... the confidence comes from there...they know the true value of the company.......and i think very few employees have applied to the issue..need real data - which is missing in the foram. we donot have the perfect data of reserved shares for employees and subscription nos. for employees.
