Key take away from Chanda kochhar interview today Insurance is under penetrated market in India & huge scope for growth in future due to rise in income levels Last 3 years ROE is more than 15% and stands leader in non life insurance space of private players Robust product pipeline catering different type of customers based on their needs. Effective use of technology for better efficiency & customer reach
Ask Chanda komain business) year on year to Iffco tokio and Tata AIG.
Marine and crop insurance are negligible sector where they are growing.
Also can she justify the price of Rs.661 by no means costliest general insurance company in the world.
Check multiples of general insurance companies like Axa, Allianz, or Munich which are listed in Europe stock exchange. They are trading at 10x with price to book value below 1.
In India branded companies with moats of wealth from group companies can do anything but surely this IPO will list at discount.
It seems there is problem in printing messages. Resending it in different mode....
Ask Chanda kochar as to why they are losing their main motor insurance business market share to Iffco tokio and Tata AIG year on year.

None of these arguments from Interview could justify fully priced valuation @661 in this bullish market. I will buy it Post listing
ICICI Lombard Fair Value is Not more than 500-550 Maximum ..Avoid it .This valuse is not logical .As usual Grey market will try to make Artificial mahol in favour of this But Artificial Mahol can not survive long Time It can survive Maximum upto 1-2 days before listing .
ICICI Is useless compony as always .GMP 50 On 661 Rs less than 10 % and that GMP is also finished and become 0 once the ipo subscription is over . AS Routine Icici make price such tight that will not give any listing gain and no one can earn a penny in any icici ipo
Anushka hi where are you live because at our place there is the 80 rupees premium and kostak is above 650+...you take a wide view then tell about the gmp is null if your city not but other city has also a premium
ICICI Lombard will First Create Excellent Grey Market Fancy Before IPO And Slowly Decrease GMP and Will list at Issue price or below Issue Price ( In Discount Listing ) . 100 % Conform
Last year the same thing happened with ICICI Prudential IPO. In the past too both FPO of ICICI Bank were tightly priced leaving nothing on the table to investors.
With SBI Life proposed to open on Sept 20 to 22, it is going to make things tough for both IPOs.
Kostak of icici Lombard is 900, so why take risk. Me ne to 4 applications kostak karadi, now i m onwer of 3600 rs. Total amount i invested is 60000 and i earned 3600 which is 9 times more than bank fd.

- IPO Grey Market Premium (IPO GMP) mention is valid for the specific date as mentioned in the header. - We are not buying and selling IPO forms on IPO Gery Market. - Kostak Rate is the premium one gets by selling his/her IPO application (in an off market transaction) to someone else even before allotment or listing of the issue. - Do not subscribe for IPO by just seeing premium Price as it may change anytime before listing. Subscribe only considering Fundamental of the companies
Long term investors go for ICICI Lombard. Don''t worry about listing gain. Every year you will get hefty dividend & it''s completely tax free. If you have doubts ask an existing longterm ICICI bank shareholder.
Especially if you are long term investor, buying in IPO hardly makes sense these days. Maximum you get is one lot, that too if you are lucky. That''s investment of 15-20K. What long term returns and dividend you will get in it? Better to buy in secondary market based on your apetite
@ Akash, one can always buy in secondary but for some1 with primary stock whatever the lot... your average cost will still be lower. Hence your returns will be higher than a person who buys only in secondary (assumption listing price and trading price are higher than issue price)
Longtermpunter, you are missing the point of discussion for this thread. Read original post once again. Discussion started with "long term investors go for ICICI lombard. Don''t worry about listing gain". If we assume listing price and trading price are higher than issue price, than one should invest in all IPO regardless of long term prospect. If money is to be made no point not making it. My only comment was that, if listing gain is in doubt, no point buying IPO for long term gain. Rather buy in secondary.
Hi gamble. Please share your views on upcoming iPos like icici Lombard, sbi and other government general insurance companies which are in line. I mean which are better one to invest.
Same was said during icici prudential ipo. All we got was a discount listing. I think only coal india has rewarded investors in ipo among large issues.
