Everyone like us including companies also want to benefited in bull market to sell their product(share) at a good premium when more people (investors) are ready to pay more premium for good scripts. So it''s not a bad thing. Its good time for new IPOs that is why many IPOs are in line and we should also get some benefit by choosing good scripts.
So think before applying in an IPO and do some own analysis or read the messages of knowledgeable persons like Eagleye, Septa, Uchit Patel, Arjun Patel, Chen cho, Gamble, Shareview etc.
Shouldn''t apply in every issue. I didn''t get loss in any IPO by skipping issues like Bharat Road Network Ltd, SIS, GTPL, S Chand, C L Educate, HPL, L&T Tech & Infotech both etc......

This should not be sole reason for not applying. There are numerous scripts which are appreciated by more than 50 percentage in last six months. What we have to is whether script is worth for the price they are asking.

Views of different Brokers: Centrum Broking: It could attract adequate investor interest being the first insurance listing along with other factors such as under-penetration in the sector and its healthy financials. The stock may list at premium to the issue price. If that does not happen, than investors should be ready to expect returns only in the long term.
SMC Research: The company’s financial performance has been strong and it is the first player to go public from the insurance segment. Considering all these aspects, investment for long term may be considered.
Brokerage: Way2Wealth The sector can witness high growth as awareness of risk cover as well as shift of savings to financial assets accelerates over the next decade. Being a leader in the space & having superior operating metrics we believe the company is well poised to take up the opportunity of increase in penetration over the next few years. It asks investors with a long term view to subscribe to the issue.
Motilal Oswal: Positive on the issue as the sector provides opportunities for growth on the back of significantly lower penetration and lower insurance density compared to other developed and emerging economies. The premium is justified due to growth potentials of non-life segment, leadership positioning and strong solvency margins. It recommends subscribing with a long term view.
KR Choksey: The issue is expensive against some of the multiples at which deals have taken place recently. But, the growth potential and focus on improving profitability makes it positive on the issue and recommends subscribing for the long term.
Nirmal Bang: There is no comparable listed peer of ICICI Lombard but as compared to other consumer facing NBFC peer like Bajaj Finance, Gruh Finance, ICICI prudential and PNB Housing finance the share is offered at lower valuation. We recommend to Subscribe with long term perspective considering the market opportunity, number one positioning and strong financial of company.
Ajcon Global: The brokerage house too recommends subscribing the issue based on certain parameters.
Hi All, What is the difference between following options and who are eligible for first one... 1. ICICI LOMBARD GEN INS CO LTD - SHAREHOLDER 2. ICICI LOMBARD GEN INS CO LTD
Currently i am holding ICICI Pru Life shares which was allotted in IPO.. Please explain in detail and advise me.
Guys instead of asking questions about applying in shareholders category, why f Don''t you read the prospectus? It has answers to all your questions. Stop posting, start reading.
Hi Vvc, What is the problem for you if we post message about shareholder query... if you’re willing to share knowledge in to this forum otherwise keep quiet and stay way...
A word of caution came from Choice Broking which has advised investors to subscribe with caution. The brokerage house is of the view that investors can enter in this script at a lower price post listing. “In May 2017, Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd., one of the largest investor in ILGI, sold 12.2% of its stake to certain private equity firms for Rs. 24.7bn, thereby valuing the firm to around Rs. 200bn. Now at a higher price band of Rs. 661, ILGI is demanding a market cap of Rs. 300bn, which is around 50% premium to the May 2017 deal. We feel that this is unwarranted as there is no major change in the fundamental of the company. Since there is no listed peer for the company, however if we try to compare it with the only listed life insurance company i.e. ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd., which is trading at a P/E multiple of 36.6x, this IPO is highly priced with a P/E multiple of 46.8x. Thus considering the above observations, we assign a “Subscribe with Caution” rating for the issue,” noted the research note on ICICI Lombard IPO.
