Arun ji, I respect you a lot. I know that you are very knowledgeable but share your views mostly in a single line. One has to read between the lines to decipher your thoughts. But many times your sarcasm may not sound good to everyone. Request you share your views on IPO in a detailed manner so that it will benefit many like us.

You are absolutely right.

Some people are crying greedy promoter costly ipo discount listing and so many things but its going over subscribe in all categories except retail, retail could get full 13 lots is well. low gmp but at time of listing could surprise everyone 25 to 30% listing gain is possible in listing day.

All depends on QIBs. Anything is possible.

Grey market walen bhi kya soch kar 700 rs premium de rahe the ke hyundia 1400 rs price band rakhega...750 pe to trade hoo raha tha or application 3600 pe ...without allotment..Lagta hai bajaj housing ke kamai ko pacha nahi paye ..

I have a question for those saying 'Hyundai promotoers are very greedy'.

Let me know if I am missing anything.

Below my calculations are on 2024 earnings (trailing) for both Maruthi & Hyundai.

Maruthi: PE = 3,93,690 cr / 13,488 cr = 29.19 pe

Hyundai: PE = 1,59,257 cr / 6,060 cr = 26.28 pe

So at the current valuations they are leaving 10% for the public vs Maruthi's valuations. And with some brokerages pointing out that Hyundai should command better PE vs Maruthi, one can may be add another 10% PE conservatively. So that would be about 20% from issue price.

Aur kitnaa chaahiya bhai... Or am I missing anthing here. I have not done anything new now. 2 weeks back when I put out that 1960/- could be the IPO price, this was the same math I did last time as well.

Let me know guys your thoughts if my calc is wrong, would help me as well take an informed call.

​@IPO.RIKI 15% GMP is great for me buddy. I applied in Voda Idea when GMP was 15%, applied First Cry when GMP was 7%, JNK when GMP was 12% & Bharti Hexacom when GMP was 10% ...and those till date remain to be my top return IPOs.

GMP is just a minor attribute when it comes to Mainboard IPOs for me and I rely more on the subscription data, anchor list & then ofcourse the quality of the company.

Agar ye sab first class hai then even at ZERO gmp I wont hesitate to apply.

My way of subscribing for an IPO looks to be totally different from your thought process.

​@Rajcool Gmp works on demand supply vis a vis issue size.... secondly valuation also matter.....with such issue like, it is most likely to fail on listing day similar to lic and sbi cards.....why coal india succeed bcoz it came at excellent pricing and left something on table for investors....here looking at market conditions and demand, you better understand how this issue will fare....i am just waiting for ntpc green ipo....least interested for this after its price...below 1700 there would be something..

​@PKRAJ Sir, your observation is bang on. The difference between the lower price and the upper price can not exceed 20% is the only rule. Most IPOs keep the difference as about 5% in their offering. However, almost in all the cases price at upper end of the band gets final - difference in range has no relevanc.

​@Chhote Lal Dear, this price band definitely has a relevance. Otherwise why IPOs not coming at fixed price. You are correct also. Now these days IPO s are heavy subscribed and companies are not in a mood to benefit the retail investors specially even if hardly subscribed. I am sharing an example when a company alloted the shares at the lowest price band. The company is none other than PSU, NMDC.
NMDC FPO came in March 2010 at a price band of 300-350. Issue size was Rs. 9,935.45 cr. This was subscribed with the help of QIB only. NII 0.22x, Retail was also 0.22x and QIB was 2.28x.
This FPO was given at 300. For retailers there was 5% discount. There are a few cases where issues were hardly subscribed with the help of QIBs. I don't remember thosr. Here retailers were offered 34.82%.
Please don't mind, these are only a negligible cases. In was in Bangalore during 2008 to 2010.

From now till IPO open day I guess GMP will keep tracking Maruti price. Any upward movement in Maruti price can push the GMP up and vice versa.

Amazed why company decided to take multiple of 7 shares as opposed to 8. Which was possible as per SEBI norms as lot size final value can be between Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 16,000
So company wants more investor participation or reduce amount for applying for 2 lots?

I think reduced amount for applying for 2 lots..

Allotment will be 1 lot confirm + additional few shares for retail..

Lot size final value can be between 12,000 to 15,000.

​@Abhinay Answer is No, though there are some cases where people reported receiving allotments through third party applications due to loophole. Third party applications for IPOs have been banned since May 2022. Why even think about something which is not permitted.
