It seems every one is lapping up the HDFC AMC issue.However, the issue price is not cheap. At the maximum possible with PE of 32.3 and with high P/BV of 10.8 times. More over it has only Rs 5 FV. I can see a madness over the issue and every one is lapping it up. There is no no first moover advantage nor can be given scarcity premium. There are dozens AMCs in the field. Though there may be some profit on the listing, the herd mentality of Investors are dangerous.

It's only matters when stock splits

@jajo HDFC has 21,19,88,800 shares with FV Rs. 5 (as you multiplied it), now to make FV Rs. 10 , effective shares would be 10,59,94,400 while on being compared to Reliance Nippon whose count of FV10 shares is 61, 20, 00, 000 , roughly 1/6th so 2200/6 = 366.67. I don't see any harm in asking slight better valuation than RNAM.

However, I too agree that if allotted it is better to sell maximum of the lot or sell application in kostak

Only the second day is going on but more than 1200000 application forms have been submitted.
These are the applications that is put online by retailers or submitted to the bank.
All the applications which are physically submitted are all still in the broker house and they will be submitted only after 4:00 pm tomorrow evening.
Looking at these figures, it seems that this IPO will break all the old records And will set a new record in the field of subscription.If the number of applications reached around 3000000, then it would not be surprising...

Applied 01 lot today under retail category, this is my 5th attempt applying through HDFC net banking, earlier 04 IPO allotment did not received as mode was HDFC net banking,, lets c if this fails will go through from Asix net banking online application that is far better

Can easily cross 5x in retail. May be 5:1 ratio for retailers.
