Guys , understand the allotment process, before calling the registrar a cheat. Shares are allotted in lottery to the applications in case of oversubscription. Here number of applications matter not the lots. 1 lot applications has same chance of alltment to a 10 lot or a 12 lot application.

Does anyone knows how Karvy allocates share? Does number of lots per application matter?

A friend of mine got 0 out of 13 applications and his neighbor got 5 out of 6 applications in RII category.
I got NIL from my 3 applications in RII category. Fortunately I had also applied for full 13 lots each (ie, 169 shares) in the share holder category. All my 3 applications were allotted 46 shares each.
RII category is sheer luck. While share holder category is a mixture of holding parent company shares before the eligibility date, less number of applications while bidding, applying for higher number of lots, etc.
Moral of the story is tomorrow itself buy 1 share eack of Kotak Bank in all your demat accounts. Kotak may come out with Kotak AMC issue in the future and there can be a share holder category. Same with SBI, Yes, any other.

why didn't u ask the magic formula from ur friend who got 5 out of 6.moreover holding shares of kotak etc does not make any sense.no body know when it ipo come , whether there is shareholder quoata in it...etc etc

I also got 43+13 = 56 under same PAN card ... applied lots are 12+1

May be its just my bad luck..
My IPO history with karvy is terrible. Almost played 10 innings and ducked out!!

On your comments on Kotak / other AMC IPO's I would like to say .... I missed out on the share holder quota in HDFC life since I was not a HDFC share holder. To be eligible to apply in this IPO, I purchased 1 share each in all my three demat accounts immediately after the HDFC Life IPO without knowing about this IPO. Look at the result 46 shares each for 3 applications in the SH quote.

I hold SBI and Yes in my portfolio. I intend to purchase 1 share of kotak in each tomorrow.

at how much discount the share will list? shall we purchase on listing? please advise.

Must be dreaming .....wale up now ...it is broad morning , already ...!
