I am new to the IPO's , Need your help to understand the Ipo application submission process. i have only one demat account, While applying it's show upto 3 bids we can do, is this 3 bids will consider like 1 application or 3 applications? if it is a single application, all the 3 bids should be in either Retail/ Shin? or can we club both in 3 bids ?
@Pradeep, You need to select the cut-off price while applying and it will automatically grey out the other 2 bids. It is considered as 1 application. You cannot club retail and SHNI under 1 PAN number. You can either apply retail or sHNI with a single PAN. If you want to apply both, then use a different demat account with a different PAN.
@ipo life thankyou so much for the clarification, I have 4lac funds and i have only one demat account what is ur suggestion for Harsha IPO 1 shni or 1 retail?

Both retail and sHNI will be in lottery as it will be over subscribed. Wait till 1 or 2 pm on day 3 and you can decide based on subscriptions in these 2 categories.

@Pradeep CH
Obviously, apply 1 sHNI, because better chances of allotment. Subscription figures depends on total application amount, while allotment depends on application number. For example, Syrma RII quota wa oversubscrobed 4.52 times, total applications were 671816 for 68 shares & allotment was 65:237 ~ 1 in every 3.6. sHNI quota was oversubscribed 14.78 times, total 10634 applications for 4556 share, & allotment was 43:126 ~ 1 in every 8.46 applications. See difference between oversubscription figure & ratio of alloment in both, RII & NII. So if fund is available, go for sHNI or bHNI. (That is most retail investors are doing right 😜).
If SHNI is subscribed 14 times than only 1 applicant out of 14 will get 14 lots, rest 13 will get nothing.

If shares are in excess after alloting 14 lots to each sHNI applicant, additional shares will be distributed to those who had applied 15-16-17 & so on lots applicants, & not to those who has applied exact 14 lots.
For example, company declared ipo with 56 lots in sHNI, & received 4 application each with 14 ,14, 28, 56 = total 112 lots. So technically sHNI subscription is 2 times. But it is not like that one among two application will get allotment. Actually all 4 applications will get 14 lots each. Now think company declared 58 lots in above example. 56 lots will be alloted as 14 lots per application but additional 2 lots will be distributed among 28 & 56 lots applicants, & none additional to 14 lots applicant.

Please guide whether to apply in big HNI Rs 1009800 or more than that. Whether both have same chances or its better to apply more than BHNI. Thanks in advance
@AMIT , If you are applying few bHNIs then there is no point in applying more than minimum quantity as the allocation ratio remains same.

If you have sufficient funds for all bHNI applications then you can select some odd figure more than 10lacs (no. of shares in multiple of 45 & amount in multiple of 14850), requirement is same amount should be selected for all bHNI applications. Theory being, say you have 10 bHNI accounts & bHNI quota is oversubscribed by 100 times. At minimum bHNI level (68 lots), there may be 40-50000 applications, where your group of 10 application will be easily lost. But at higher amount say near 40-50-60 lakhs, there will be 30-40 applications, where your 1 out of 10 applications each with same amount has very high chance of allotment. IPOgurus like lokes,M.Ravi, shahukar, Avenue & others may correct me if biased.

@samjos: both are having same chances, no logic for high chances and no point in blocking more money....1 from 10 will have same chances which 10 from 100 is having, ratio will be same, so there is nothing like application will be lost :) everything will be part of lottery and practically/technically will have same chances. In BOA they are giving very few examples so more things cant be made clear like how many applicants are there at various amount of lot sizes and how being single are treated or how being below 0.5 of ratio are being treated etc etc....so better is to apply minimum, rest depends on everyone's luck
Hi everyone, Can anyone tell me if there is any difference in applying more lots (ie more than 100 lots) instead of 68 lots if I have no other PAN for application or it will be same to apply for only for 68 lots.

No difference for one pan / one demat account. Alloment is by lottery, not proportionately.
how many lot allot if BHNI Category oversubscribed more than 10 time ?

Oversubscription is based on total of amount on all bHNI applications, while allotment is based on no. of applications. 10 times oversubscription does not mean one in every 10 application will get alloment. Ratio will be less than that.
Hi guys i have applied in 5 shni account but durring filing last application i noticed there is dicount and when i applied to 630 shres it asked for 207900 but there was discount of around 20000 does this mean my application would be in retail account or shni category

does anybody applying through offline from via bank branch? If we download form from nse . do we necessarily have apply stamp of broker and syndicate bank or not?
All Senior Members, please help me where i am going wrong. i have been applying for one lot in selected IPOs using Axis bank ASBA facility. now i decided to apply for 18 lots of this company and put 810 (45 18) and selected BID PRICE TEXT and put the amount Rs. 267300. when i pressed proceed button, it is not take taking me to the payment corridor. it is showing message as "THIS CATEGORY IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR BIDDING FOR THIS IPO. i have selected NII category as well instead my regular category of Retail. Please guide me. thanks in advance
Thank you K.Atar for your prompt response. i will try later on. iI was under the impression that RII is upto Rs. 2 lakhs and above Rs. 2 00 000 will be NII.
@Ahok Raj In Axis Bank you get acknowledgement after after ons has applied for an IPO. In which the details are there and it is mentioned that which category. As you had applied using RII, did you notice whta is written on acknowledgement.
I always use Axis Bank ASBA. Very convenient net banking. Select RII and enter number of shares and enter the rate and not the cut off. You will find everything. Your application will be blocked. You may also check the application status there itself.
@K.Atar, as suggested by you, I tried by clicking on RII, 810 shares .ie 45x 18, then clicking on BID PRICE TEXT putting 267300 as equivalent cost and when i proceed to go for payment side, it shows "BID PRICE SHOULD LIE WITHIN THE MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM BID PRICE SET FOR IPO". K>Atar and all my learned Gurus and IPO mentor please guide me on this issue. i do not want to apply for single lot as per my habit. please help me to break this habit and apply under SNII Category. as usual BIG THANK are due to you all.
@Nusrat Please enter 330 in place of 267300. Second figure will come automatically on the next page. Your application will then be accepted successfully.
@Varaha.. preferably use your bank’s ASBA for shni to avoid any UPI related issues/ delays. Otherwise, use usual IPO process in Zerodha - Console > IPO > Select Harsha > Individual Investor > Specify UPI ID > Specify Qty as 630 (i.e. 14 lots) > Submit. You would then, in a little while, receive UPI Mandate in your banking/ upi app. Once you accept it, application will be confirmed. If for some reason you do not get UPI mandate, cancel your application in Zerodha and reapply.
@Varaha, no difference in process as long as total amount remains below 5 lacs (the upi limit for IPOs). I’ve personally not tried any UPI application over 2 lacs but I understand few people have encountered issues when making UPI based application for over 2 lacs, that’s why I was suggesting to use ASBA instead. Others may be able to share their own experience of success or failure with UPI applications of over 2 lacs.
Sorry just realised you asked “allotment” process not application process. It’ll be all lottery based as it is oversubscribed i.e. if you get an allocation, it’ll be for 14 lots only.. irrespective of what you applied
Esteemed participants, I am new to the forum and IPO investing. I want to know whether investing in HNI section ( big HNI ) is of any advantage. Will it make any difference if I bid with 11 lacs versus bid of 25 lacs amount. If it is a lottery then ideally there should be no difference. PLEASE GUIDE
Based on current subscription nos., the odds/ chances are - Retail - 1 : 3.22 sHNI - 1 : 7.64 bHNI - 1 : 1 (for 14 lots allocation on 4.92x over subscription)
On that basis, 1 bHNI and 2 Retail applications will have a better chance.
Of course, the numbers will change by day 3, when odds will change too.
