Amit Ji, Becs of this upstox mess i could not sell my lots of ruchi on listing day, finally sold yesterday 40 lots at avg price of 970 (was alloted 60 lots from 5 retail applications). all are in upstocks family members accounts, and i was really on gas till yesterday as wanted to book profit. somehow i was lucky and might did some good work in past for this luck, but i think this kind of mistake was not expected from upstox.
Yes. In case of Ruchi, it was blessings in disguise. I am happy that you made good profit. But this kind of pathetic service was not expected from upstox who have a good number of clients among discount brokers.I hope they improve their service and things like these won't happen again in future.
good afternoon. @MR RAVI. @ NOORUL @LOKES. @IPOANALYSIS. @AVENUE and all other great persons in this forum. I am new to IPOS. People like me really need your guidance in applying IPOS. Kindly always tell your views to apply any IPO or not and It’s risk level. ALSO IF YOU ARE APPLYING OR NOT. I HAVE FULL TRUST ON YOU ALL. IF U APPLY I WILL ALSO FOLLOW U BLINDLY. PLEASE ACCEPT MY REQUEST. THANKS
@Kanwarjit, Thanks for your respect and kind words. We will post as much as possible in every IPO. However, the risk taking abilities differ from person to person especially holding capabilities since all IPO shares for not listing gain alone, hence the decision of investing.
I would request you to review from your end before making final call (kindly don't follow any one blindly)
Don't include me in the list of great people. They all are champs and I am still learning.
Don't follow anybody blindly. You will enjoy it more when you put your own efforts and win. Off course read all reviews, ask related questions and decide. It's your money, gain/loss will also be yours only.
Start with risk free, safer bets first. After some earnings and experience, move to riskier IPOs.
Follow the forum and learn how to maximize allotment chances, rules have changed now and nobody has experienced it yet.
Best wishes...

Agree with @MRavi and @avenue. And @Kanwarjit : atleast me/noorul/mravi/avenue, we all are informing in all mainboard/sme ipos that we are applying or not, and posting some our opinions also, accordingly some guidance can be taken and then decide as @Mravi/@avenue informed. Maximum leanings will come from experiences.....
Dear kanwarjit.. Thanks for your kind words.. But I want to clarify you that we are not the expert panel here or pro members. Infact you will find a many more experience and intelligent people here in this forum only.. who posses better knowledge than us. We are just a members of a casual group who share whatever little knowledge we hve related to that particular ipo.. and we all did make a mistakes also.. just like recently I had avoid ruchi soya..which gave bumper return. The beauty of this group lies in that nobody blame the other person if we ever made a loss on someone else recommendation... we just move on. More you will come to know with the passage of time.
Kindly notice all the reviews of respected members here.. irrespective of the tag he carry. Before taking a final call.
Don't follow anyone blindly.. nobody can time the market perfectly. Start with small amount and don't b disheartening if u face the loss in initials days because mistakes are the best teachers.. Good luck 👍
@ Noorul Very nice msg Hope all other people also understand And my msg not for you I read all of your msg and aapke msg se kabhi ye nahi lagta ke aap khudko ko guru samajte he I also know that you never invested in secondary mkt because you tell that aapko bahut loss ho gaya tha that's why you don't interested in secondary mkt
Out of topic query, Any CA / financial expert pl reply...
If a person does not have any other income and only have LTCG of 4.9 lacs in FY 21-22, does he need to pay any income tax or the 4.9 Lac LTCG can be considered as exempted income as Total Year Income is below 5 Lac
If you do not have any other income you can use 2.5 lac limit for the ltcg/stcg as applicable On the remaining LTCG again you can take 1 lac exemption under 112A Ultimately you have to pay tax on remaining 1.5 Lac at rate of 10 percent applicable without indexation and 20 percent with indexation for stcg no 1 lac exemption is provided but you can take 2.5 lac basic exemption limit
@Avenue there is a software called winman ca erp (free to install) In future if you get any doubts you can feed in details and get details about how much tax to pay like that and what vibhor said is correct.
@Surinder kumar garg Ji Rebate is not available if you have only LTCG/STCG under 111A & 112A. It is available if you have CG under Section 112 Also, It is available if you have other income apart from capital gain you can check section 112A, 111A for further reference Thanks

Basic exemption limit of 2.5 lakh can be adjusted against both LTCG/STCG under 112A & 111A. No need to pay taxes if no other income and if total income from shares sell is less than 2.5 lakh (no need to file even ITR). if total income above 2.5 lakh then gains in LTCG/STCG can be adjusted against shortfall in basic 2.5 lakh exempted income. first 112 LTCG (20% rate )can be adjusted , then 111A STCG (15% rate) can be adjusted then 112A LTCG (10% rate) can be adjusted.
87A rebate (upto 12.5k for total income above 2.5 lakh and below 5 lakh) will also be given for 112 LTCG category and 111A STCG category but 87A rebate is not applicable for 112A LTCG gains.
Lokes Sir Sorry to interrupt. But, I can assure you that you cannot avail Rebate under 87A For CG under 111A Rather Section 88 Rebate will be applicable 87A Rebate you can avail only against 112 Section Capital Gains I am considering Income Tax Act here https://www.incometaxindia.gov.in/pages/acts/income-tax-act.aspx

On similar lines of original question, what happens if person has capital gains as well income from salary. Is 2.5 lac and 1 lac limit still applicable?
@duckyduck Yes, If you have incomes under both the head Then you will be eligible for 2.5 lac basic exemption limit. Any unutilised limit can be used against ltcg and for capital gain which is long term under 112A additional 1 lac exemption will be available

@Avenue What @RPM mentioned is right. [Comment : 182.2] Above forum members only basic exemption limit of 2.5L will be available and remaining 2.4L will be taxable without getting rebate. My calculations and understating of the law is based upon result derived from income tax calculator which is available to all on our beloved income tax website. https://www.incometaxindia.gov.in/pages/tools/income-tax-calculator.aspx
Ipo stonks Show the income under 112a not under 112 or 111a Then 1 lac will be available

@Vibhor Sir I tried it again and showed the income under section 112a. Still exemption of 1L was not showing. Maybe I am incorrectly filling the data. Can anyone else confirm ?
@ipo stonks try filing your return for 22-23 using portal or offline utility and show all your incomes. After showing check the taxes required to be paid. Those taxes will be calculated after deduction the exemption limit of 112a I have filed ITR regarding this.
@MR RAVI @NOORUL @ AVENUE. @LOKES. @IPOANALYSIS. GOOD MORNING TO ALL OF U. A VERY BIG THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR REPLIES. U REALLY ARE GEM OF A PERSONS. PLEASE CONTINUE TO SPREAD YOUR LIGHT OF KNOWLDEGE SO THAT I CAN GROOM UNDER YOUR GUIDANCES. U ALL ARE DOWN TO EARTH WHICH SHOWS HOW GREAT PEOPLE U ARE. PROFIT OR LOSS IS SECONDARY. BUT GOOD ACTIONS AND GOOD HONEST BEHAVIOUR ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT IN LIFE. PLEASE CARRY ON YOUR GOOD WORK. THANKS A LOT. GOD BLESS U ALL.
Query: I applied for Hariom but I couldn't accept the upi mandate because money was blocked in uma . But tomorrow my money got deducted from my bank account for same amount as I applied for Hariom. I checked the allotment status , and it responded no data found . So what does this mean ?
If anyone could help me I would be grateful if you .
Post closing of IPO you need to accept the mandate very next day before 11 am . If next day is Saturday , You can accept mandate before 11 am on Monday morning but I am not sure on this point . Experts need to advise on this point . It will helps to other members .
Thanks for your reply. My query was not about how to calculate gain but was in taxation/exemption of LTCG with no other income. That has already been addressed. Thanks for your information too...
Out of context please: @MRavi Sir, Based on your past experiences and knowledge :) Request you to share ur view: Where do you see KN in long term - 400, 500, 700, 1000 or more, to be its deserving level?
@avenue. Actually its depends how much listing gain it will give on listing day. In case if listing gain is 10 - 15%.. than I will hold all. Over 25% I will sell half. Just like uma export. Today I sold my allotted 1500 shares of Uma @ 92 on bse. Still holding rest 2500 shares.
@noorul are you trailing stoploss for this? If yes then how much % below you add stop loss. @Mravi please also give your technique for booking max gains from shares
@ rafique. The nest is correct .. bse rate was 92 at Uc. @ Nilaykumar.. I m not trailing stop loss here.. It will surely hit lc in pre open.. in upcoming days.. I m partly selling my share.. to book the profit.. and will hold last 1200 share till its hit Lower circuit.
