Dilip Sir's Review - "Super earnings for the last one and half year is a bit surprising but according to company circles, it's the impact of rising commodity prices globally"
My question : How can rising commodity prices result in Super Earnings ?
Reviews normally follow a set template, I wish they would offer something more out of the box Normally it's someone in the comments here who offers better insights Looks like decent IPO if they can reduce debt going forward

In my view it is raw material booked at old price and final output sold at higher price may be one of the reason. Inventory valuation in India follows in general FIFO (First in First out)
@arunarun. Super earnings have been posted for a period of one and a half year and doubt any company keeping raw material inventory for such a long time. Dilip sir review are great but he usually cautions investors for recent IPO periods super earnings to window dressing. But in this case especially he has attributed it to rising commodity prices. I am still not convinved about rise in CP can result in super earnings. Can anybody clarify. Ultrasnow rightly said that most reviews are based on standard template, but this one ... Anyways, I am sure this is a good IPO and will be subscribed handsomely. Thanks
@Avenue During commodity super cycle, companies also earn super profits because they increase their margin. For example, if you check out Tata steel, you would see that they have consistently improved their margins which resulted in super profits. Another reason for Hariom to post such profits is the integrated nature of their operations which results in cost savings - It has one unit to manufacture sponge iron and another unit which takes this product as input to manufacture steel products.
@Noorul, haha good one, out of habit I check all his reviews for 'apple' word. When company has no peer for comparison, you will find no apples in Davdaji review!
I have seen some members of this forum posting that they have applied from 200-300 acc especially in SME Ipo. Can you please tell which broker demat you use like which doesn't have amc and all and allow selling sme ipo on listing. Please Tell respected members🙏🙏
Yes, because I use Axis Bank & applied in HNI twice. Application was accepted thought not allotted. In fact once I even got allotment details and why I didn't get allotment.
Some banks have an option of selection of category between RETAIL and HNI. In this case u have to apply for number if lots so that total amount is less than 2L or Greater than 2L, Resp. Some banks do category decision automatically based on total number of shares (or amount u r applying with) so they don't need the applicant to fill in the details of category.
Company has two plants one for tubes and another one for sponge Iron. Does anyone know or can provide pointers (probably in RHP) to company revenue and profit from each of these two plants separately?
Sebi has prescribed a revised allocation method to non-institutional investors (i.e. those investing more than Rs 2 lakh in an IPO): one-third of the non-institutional investors’ portion is to be reserved for applicants investing more than Rs 2 lakh but up to Rs 10 lakh and the rest for such applicants investing more than Rs 10 lakh
-- For small HNI investor who is invest more than 2 lakh but less than 10 lakh. how will be allotment done ? will everyone get something here ? any one have a idea ?
I think it will be HNI allotment will be exactly similar to the present retail allotment process. For 2-10 Lac small HNI category, lottery based allotment of shares worth 2 Lac (minimum HNI amount), in case of over subscription. I expect to see most HNI applying only for 2 lac amount only, as in retail we apply only for 1 lot.
@NMZ, I would certainly apply (not FF), number of lots depends on last day subscriptions both QIB and HNI. Also new HNI rules for this IPO onwards, lets see how this is going to go especially in HNI.

I wonder why this Hariom Pipe IPO is kept open for 5 days (excluding Saturday and Sunday) instead of usual 3 days so far. Has the IPO subscription period also changed from April onwards? Will appreciate if somebody can help. Thanks.

@Arca Simple. These companies were not confident of getting QIB applications and did not want to show poor QIB number on day 3
- Companies will first ensure higher QIB subscriptions MULTIPLES then higher QIB total subscription value as HNIs (and also retail) look at QIB subscriptions MULTIPLES as their guiding factor. - Easy availability of external funding for HNIs by financial institutions has increased focus on HNIs.
