One of the few IPOs where the intent of raising Equity is to repay loans. Completely defies the principal of economics (cost of equity > cost of debt).
Fundamentally an avoid. But looking at the current liquidity in market, it might get you some meagre gains.
A complete avoid for me. Would rather put money in mundra Port!!
This company ipo seems to be very weird..... It was one of the first private ports to operate in india and they havent made any profit since last 10 years. We have seen many instances of ipo's where promotors/private equity investors have become very rich due to rich valuations of their share sale. But here the case seems different. The investors who have invested their money in this company since 2001 at 80Rs are booking their loss now. One more important observation is Earning Before Interest and Tax(EBIT) has always been negative for 5 years except 2010.In 2010 too, they had a very small value for EBIT. In addition to this they had a huge borrowing cost which would go down heavily once the ipo will be through. So after ipo, they should be having a very small eps instead of negative operating profit. Can anybody help me in estimating the eps for 2011 extrapolating the value of 2010 and removing borrowing costs? if we get a decent number here, then only i guess it is worth investing.
YOU CAN CANCEL ASBA APPLICATION ALSO-QIB FIGURES ARE AVAILABLE BEFORE CLOSING-ONLY HNI FIGURES ARE AVAILABLE ON YOUR SITE BY SOME BORDERS-ANCHOR INVESTOR DETAILS ARE AVAILABLE ON NSE SITE.
my own assesment is : AVOID THIS ISSUE. simply look at objects of the issue.company is definately short on funds. acquisition price of IDFC & IIF is very high. offer for sale by selling shareholder is at a loss to acquisition price. post listing price will be lower than issue price. ONLY LONG TERM INVESTORS, WHO CAN BLOCK FUNDS FOR 5-10 YRS MAY APPLY
2. Check FII subscription levels? In addition, predict HNI demand (not an easy task).
FIIs apply after due digilence. They may have access to price sensitive inside information that you & I don't know.
Grading of 4 indicates fundamentally sound for long-term, but it is not parameter to take decision on valuation. Most people expect listing gain.
Do some Google search. You get some brokerage house research reports. Check blogs in moneycontrol also (to get one useful post, you need to scan through 10 useless posts). Read Mint Report also about P/E Funds redemption.
All above research take just 15 minutes.
Finally, take your own decision. If you apply manually (not online), you can Stop-Payment in case FII / HNI & Retail subscription levels are less than 10 times(applicable for investors expecting listing gain).
If subscription level is more than 30 times, don't waste your 1 lac. You will get little allotment which is little for 15 days lock-in. Go for next issue.
Very Good IPO .. Invest , you earn minimum - 5000/- to 6000/- Per One Lac Application. - 100 % I will apply : 20 Applicatiion. Not to sell in grey market.. for only 2000/-
