why to apply in every IPO ?Promoters have not decided about land acquisition for future expansion ...may be intrested in selling their family owned land for the purpose. You have very strong, sound and a giant full of Public sector trained professionals managed Hindustan Zinc in the vicinity for Lead ,cadmium and Silver.Ask govt.to take it back from dirty hands.

One very interesting IPO is going to hit street in late November or may be early Dec. One can definitely use the refunds of PGCIL in this IPO of only unlisted PSU Bank, PSB i.e. Punjab & Sind Bank based at Chandigarh. The Bank was cronically sick up to 2004 (like UBI and UCO) but govt.infused funds and restructured capital to make it attractive for fund raising/IPO. The issue size is Rs. 500 crores and bank will dilute 4 crore shares (18% equity)at appx price of Rs. 125 per share.
The Bank will offer 5% discount to employee & retail portion.

Financials - Figures of FY'10 are only available. On the basis of which, the Bank has deposits and advances of Rs. 49k cr and 32k cr with N.P. of Rs. 508 cr in FY'10 compared to Rs. 431 cr in previous year. Capital adequacy ratio is 12.73% (FY'10) as against regulatory requirement of 9%.It has 920 branches of which 500 odd are in Punjab and plans to open 100 new branches and 180 ATMs in current year.Post issue capital will be Rs. 223 cr and post issue EPS of FY'10- 22.65. Book value(NAV) is Rs. 105 as on 31.3.10. Price to Book is 1.19 against peer group average of 1.25. Based on EPS of last year, the issue price of Rs. 125 is discounted 5.50 times which seems very attractive against peer group PE of 7. Recent IPO of United Bank which came at PE of 6 is currently trading at 12 PE, giving a handsome return of over 100% in just 6 months of listing. This IPO might not give 100% return in 3-6 months but is certain to deliver 60% return over the period if the growth rate is maintained during FY'11. The Bank has low NIM of 2.67% which has scope for further improvement with low CASA of 25%. Increase in CASA base will have healthy impact on NIMs. Net NPA as on 31.3.10 is 0.36% which is a positive. RONW is also healthy at 25.5% as against peer group avg. of 23%. Peer group here is UCO, United, Dena, Vijaya, Andhra & BOM.

Based on above, a price target of Rs. 200 upon listing in 3-6 months is possible which discounts 8 times theFY'11 expected earning of 25.

Concerns - The Bank is not fully computerised as yet,the process has just begun. Priority sector lending constitutes 44% which is a major risk for a PSU Bank with major operations in the state of Punjab. Another agriculture loans write off or interest subsidy due to govt. diktat will have negative impact on earnings.

Any how, its a must apply and one should eagerly wait and make arrangement of funds for this IPO.

Primary target of investors should be invest in IPOs.....& sell them off in good prices...not hold these shares for longer time....if present trend continue investors are sure to gain @ of 20 percent at least....

With today's move, it is evident that there is some 9 - 10% correction on cards in Nifty / Sensex.

If Nifty is able to cross 6150, bearish view can be negated.

As long as Nifty trades below 6075, applying for fundamentally weak companies could be dangerous.

Dear 87 - IPO rule is common for all companies. There won't be any rule variation from company to company. Minor can apply in all IPOs but actual procedure should follow, that is all. The procedure laid down for IPO application under minor category you should throly follow. For more details refer SEBI guidelines.

Clarification on IPO application in the name of minor :

DMat account can be opened in the name of minor with mother/father as guardian. Some ipos allow minor to apply and others don't. The info can first be checked with the instructions in the ipo application under the head WHO CAN BID?. Almost all the ipos in the recent past had allowed HUFs to apply but had not allowed the minors.
The registrars are very prompt in rejecting applications of minors if the company does not allow.

Many Govt Company ipos had allowed minors if I remember- NHPC,SJVN etc

FIRST KNOW THE IMPORTANCE OF LEAD & ITS IMPORTANCE AND USES IN INDIA & IN FUTURES .. IT MAY BE FUNNY 4U.. AND COMPARE THAT WITH OTHER LEAD BASED INDUSTRIES IN THE MARKET , IF ANY.. THEN COMPARE THAT WITH THEM , OR COMPARE WITH COMMODITY MARKET RATES OF LEAD METAL.. AND MAKE YOUR OWN DECISION AND TAKE IT... DONT SIMPLY BELIVE ON SUBSCRIPTIONS ,IT MAY BE A MULTIBAGGER IN THE NEAR FUTURE OR CAN BE A TERRIBLE LOSS.. BUT NOT IN THE MIDRANGE...
