Dear GEM / Ravi Bangalore,

Still confused whether to apply or not for listing gains.

Require your fianl call. Are you going to invest or give a miss as Sreedhar has hinted that he may go for the Gravita IPO.

I am planning to invest 2 applications full.

Kindly provide your honest feedback. I am only looking for 10-20% listing on Day 1 itself.

Thanks.

The issue is getting undue attention from retail investors.
Retail portion oversubscribed by nearly 4 times on the penultimate day.
On the last day because of the small size(12,42,500 shares to retail)it will be oversubscribed by more than 30 times.
Everybody will be under lottery scheme.
There is no guarantee that one will get even 50 shares after applying for maximum of 800 shares.
There will be listing gains for all successful allottees.
It is a game of chance now.
Like getting a winning lottery ticket.
The only difference being, the unsuccessful applicants will get refund and not lose the principal like in a lottery or race course.

Why there may not be much interest from the QIBs is because of the small size. They will be comfortable in a large sized issue like Coal India because of the large number of floating stock.

Imagine if a QIB were to put a sell order for even 10000 shares.
It will immediately hit lower circuit in a counter like Gravita.

The same order will not even create a ripple in a counter like SBI,Reliance,Tata motors,Tisco etc.And that is why QIBs don't want to be in illiquid counters.
After the listing euphoria, Gravita will become an illiquid counter in a month's time.It will have a daily volume of a few thousand shares only.Punters would have shifted their attention to another new
counter,another small IPO issue.

Moral: Apply for listing gains only.
No guarantee of allotment.
Lottery scheme will be in operation, even for 800 shares application.

Its clear Gravita may give at most 25% return in a week after listing...not more than this....
so I will go ahead and applying tomorrow......

I do not expect Retail and HNI to be oversubscribed more than 10-12 times since QIB interest is limited. I do not expect upside over 150-160 and also due to Power Grid FPO some amount may be pooled to it also. But due to good valuation I expect it touch 150-160 on listing and may comedown on listing day to 130-140.

HNI are the main player in sucess of an ipo becouse they used money to subscribe is financed by other which they charge interest on it so HNI apply in ipo means they can get more return then the cost of financed so the more mony means more successful ipo or after listing HNI will take comman in their hand they are the operators of stocks so look HNI

Gyscoal Alloys - 33.44 times
Tirupati - 19 times

While for Gravita only as of today - 0.19 times

is there chance to getting more bidders for NIIs...?
