Shreedhar, you mean to say that the value of the share will definitely come down later? If so what could be the target? Please let me know. So that I can also think about selling the remaining shares tomorrow. and enter later.
PC dave, I bought back Coal India only to make a quick buck tomorrow.Tomorrow will be the last I will see Coal India. Its horribly expensive for me at 350 with its low grade of coal.It has gone up this much only becos it is a must have in each Institution portfolio. It may still have some steam left for reasons of Index inclusion & F&O inclusion otherwise I do not find value in it. When power grid was listed after its IPO I sold most of my stock at 130-140 & never touched it.My fair value for it was 80-85 which has now been vindicated. Now I will apply for Power grid at 85-90 price.
No one will get straight allotment. Since it is over subscribed 37 times more than 16 times even 1 lakh application will have to go for lottery. only 43% of full application people will get 1 lot (50 shares each).
As predicted by me on Nov2nd,@211, the retail portion got oversubscribed by 37 times. However the issue will be priced at the higher end, which means this may get slightly reduced.Assuming if retail investors had bid lower than the upper limit.Even then only one out of 2 applicants who bid for maximum number will get any allotment.
It is a lottery ticket.
Double on listing day.
Watch out.
Lottery allottees ENJOY.
211. prakash kundur Nov 02, 2010 10:40:48 PM IST Report Spam The issue is getting undue attention from retail investors. Retail portion oversubscribed by nearly 4 times on the penultimate day. On the last day because of the small size(12,42,500 shares to retail)it will be oversubscribed by more than 30 times. Everybody will be under lottery scheme. There is no guarantee that one will get even 50 shares after applying for maximum of 800 shares. There will be listing gains for all successful allottees. It is a game of chance now. Like getting a winning lottery ticket. The only difference being, the unsuccessful applicants will get refund and not lose the principal like in a lottery or race course.
Why there may not be much interest from the QIBs is because of the small size. They will be comfortable in a large sized issue like Coal India because of the large number of floating stock.
Imagine if a QIB were to put a sell order for even 10000 shares. It will immediately hit lower circuit in a counter like Gravita.
The same order will not even create a ripple in a counter like SBI,Reliance,Tata motors,Tisco etc.And that is why QIBs don't want to be in illiquid counters. After the listing euphoria, Gravita will become an illiquid counter in a month's time.It will have a daily volume of a few thousand shares only.Punters would have shifted their attention to another new counter, another small IPO issue.
Moral: Apply for listing gains only. No guarantee of allotment. Lottery scheme will be in operation, even for 800 shares application.
