@noorul 100% agreed. Tarsons subscription figures are astonishing. I think 1 lakh cr HNI fund cap has been broken here for the very first time. I''m very disappointed with the subscription figures as I won''t get the desired quantity.

@MK ji - 600x would mean 600 x 152 = 91,200 cr. Latent View got 881 × 92 = 81,052 cr. At the moment I do not see the hype for GoFashion equivalent to Latent. So my estimate is a bit lower than yours at around 400x to 500x.

@MK ji - Intention is never to troll anybody. All your points are valid and it is true that anything can happen with FUNDED money. Oversubscription falling in range of 650x to 900x is possible.

1) Latent: RII -> 0 / 2 applications; NII -> 1 lot allotted for 664 lots applied. Refund amount will be fully utilized for GO FASHIONS for <= 1 Cr. If NII subscription crosses 400 times at 2.30 pm, I will give a miss to this IPO. If it is around 300-350 times, then I will apply with full force.

2) I like to switch over from ICICI BANK / ICICIDIRET to IDFC First Bank / Zerodha, as the ICICI deceive me in the case of Clean Science / GM infra with the remarks Issue is already closed for my NII applications at around 2.40 pm even though the issue was very well open up to 3 pm and I could make two RII applications subsequently and successfully in the same portal. There is no proper reply to my complaint lodged. I could not take up the matter to SEBI / RBI, as the ICICI left no proof in the system.

3) On enquiry with IDFC First Bank, they say they will give upto 5% for SB A/c, interest is credited on the first day of next month, ASBA facility is available, net banking is available, FD interest at 5.25% plus 0.5% for Senior Citizen (I am Senior Citizen) but no FD linking facility for ASBA application.

4) I request all the HNI members to give their suggestions regarding experience with the IDFC First Bank. Whether any another private bank(s) give better service / benefit ? The IPO cut off time for NII before 3 pm cannot be compromised at any cost pl.

@DevBull ji - IDFC First Bank infrastructure is not up to the levels of other big banks. I apply my retail applications from IDFC First Bank however i face issues on last day whenever multiple issues are open. Also IDFC First Bank app is generally very slow. Error messages are vague. Customer service is good and sometimes prompt. Please consider taking opinion from customers of RBL Bank and Indus Ind bank. Kotak is good for your use case in my opinion.

Will you please through some more light on Kotak w.r.t. SB A/c interest rate , FD interest, additional 0.5% interest for Senior Citizen, FD linking facility for ASBA application, last day cut off time for NII applications, applying for Demat A/c other than Kotak demat etc.

@lokes, I have funds for 137 lots. Do I have to apply for 130 or 135 lots to increase the chances of allotment in lottery as it will be less than 50% of the total NII subscription (assuming subscription >500)?
Experts, please suggest the lots to apply in HNI with the funds available.

@DevBull ji - Kotak infrastructure is up there and as good as big banks. Savings & FD rates may be a bit higher than say HDFC Bank but lower than RBL & Indus Ind Bank. Kotak allows FD to be used for IPO applications, you have to link the FD to your Savings accounts. There is an option for this in internet banking. Senior citizen get 0.5% extra. They have demat account with NSDL acting as depository. Big plus they give IPO funding, but i haven''t used it so no idea about charges. But good to have that option directly in app. Last day cut off time is a big irritant at 2:00 pm.

Everything is available on app and there will never be a need to visit the Branch. Customer service is good and prompt. The only con is interest rates are now lower than say RBL and Indus Ind Bank and cut-off time is 2 pm. So i suggest you take opinion of customers of these banks.

I have funds for 150 lots and have 3 demat accounts. For expected 500X subscription in HNI, should I apply in retail?
I got no allotment for 110 lots in Latent and no hope for 122 lots in Tarson.

Also, please let me know if anyone have contact number/company info for the IPO funding in Ahmedabad.

It all depends on both the retail and the HNI subscription.

If HNI is say 500X, then you have a 14% chance of allotment if u apply for 70 lots in HNI. Concurrently if retail is at 100x , then you have a 1% chance to get allotment.

What you can do is apply for 14 lots in 3 accounts (HNI) which will give you a 2.8% chance of getting a lot each ( combined chance of a single lot between these 3 applications will be 8.4%) and the rest you can apply in the 4th account ( remaining 31 lots ) which will give you a 6.2% chance of allotment in that.

It makes more sense to increase the chances all around.

Disclosure : In latent, I got 0 from 480 lots in HNI and 1/6 in Retail. Hence, I feel this would be a better strategy.

@Devbull... Clean Science case of ICICI HNI was faced by many including me but that was one-off case and to me has never happened again, tough we are curious now and apply a bit earlier. There website is smooth, earliest in releasing funds and once I recently applied HNI even after 3:00 pm. There are definitely other reason like lower interest, hopeless customer care etc. which one can consider to switch.
But as I got Latent allotment of 1/3 in Retail and 1 lot in HNI against 500 lot application through ICICI, I am not complaining...

@M.K: i can just wish that in gocolors it wont happen like latent etc and you wont be able to troll :) Anyways the range you have given is enough range for normall other good ipos, i mean range of 250X (650-900)...LOL :) and avenue is even out of box 500 to 2000X, hahah :) i wish in firefox also i could have used smileys.
Anyways i don''t feel gocolors will cross 400X as per market conditions and other factors which i explained in tarsons hni page too. Going practically, already around 30K crore funds are blocked in tarsons and 400X more in gocolors means 60K crore and latent is different thing, no comparison here. I am still on my view as informed in tarsons page means 300X/350X around, remaining lets see if funded HNI''s still show more courage.

@mvmsr: you can go with 135 lots from single application, chances will be around 1 out of 3 or 1 out of 2.5 . Its a big india and you will get many companion for sure for your 135 lot size, even noorul for 380 lots, niteenipo for 384 and MK for 480 lots, all got companions.

@avenue: you applied for 500 lots in latent, you were allotted or not ?

As u both hve quite a similar amount of fund left .. i would like to suggest u both should apply a same no of lot ... Something like 66.. which is not so common and it will create a gud chance dat amoung both of u.. one will get a lot..

@ Niteenipo. Thank you for your elaborate reply. Presently, I am applying in my Zerodha Demat (CDSL) through ICICI Netbanking (ASBA facility). Kindly check up and intimate whether the same facility is available in Kodak Bank also or we have to open Kodak Demat (NSDL) compulsorily for availing FD linking facility.

@Avenue. Not only Clean Science, the same fate for GR Infra also. The problem was not due to poor network connectivity. The website was running smoothly at that time as I could easily apply under RII after rejection in NII. My application under NII got processed smoothly at several stages and after successful final stage of Fund Allocation, it was rejected with the remarks “issue is already closed” but actually the issue was very well open. How could they close the issue before cutoff time? Further, they kept no proof in the system. As I use to get proportionate allotment in almost all IPOs, my share of allotment in Clean Science/GR Infra would have gone to some other HNI applicants because of wrong doing by ICICI BANK / ICICI DIRECT. Congrats for Latent allotment of two lots; one each from RII and NII.

@DevBull - I confirm that you can add your Zerodha (CDSL) account as "Beneficiary" under IPO section in Kotak internet banking. You do not need to open a separate demat account with Kotak. Zerodha + Kotak works very well. Best of Luck.

@Devbull... I completely agree your frustration. I was also in the same boat and after seeing " issue is already closed" had no other option but to apply in retail and did not get allotment. I too was upset n angry at that time and even tried to contact customer care, but as I said earlier, their customer care is pathetic. Eventually time healed the wound. It was a big issue and surprisingly no authorities noticed or took any action, may be good compensation...

These different HNI cutoff times on different platforms are a pain in the *** and I feel as number of IPO days/dates are same for all platforms, the HNI and even Retail cutoff should also be made uniform on all application platforms. It may happen some day...

@devbull - kotak gives 0.5% more than hdfc/icici in savings a/c, & site is open till 2.59.59pm to apply for ipo rii or hni. But still better is AU bank which gives 6% on 10-25 lakhs & 7% on more than 25 lakhs amount in savings bank & allow ipo application till 3pm, & stakk is super helping in nature in case of any emergency.

@niteenipo - kotak bank don''t provide FF for ipo allocation. They do provide overdraft facility on FD. Staff is like nationalized bank. I would prefer AU small finance bank on KMBank.

@noorul sir - got 1/699 & 0/355 in hni, & 0/6 retail in Latent. All this will go for go fashion.

@samjos - I''m a Kotak customer, I can assure you (1) ASBA application cut-off time is 2:00PM on last day (I use Kotak app, I would be delighted if cut-off time is 2.59.59pm, please let me know how you apply till 2.59.59pm) (2) You need to "Link FD to Savings" account to use the FD balance for ASBA IPO application. (3) I found Kotak staff adequate in getting things done.

What do u do with funds once IPO is over. I mean keeping the highs funds in simply Savings account is useless.

So Any Suggestions on how to utilize these funds to genrate more funds during the idle time.

Regards to linking the FF to savings in Kotak, do they charge u an overdraft interest for the same?

Also, people having issues with applying can just open a 3-in-1 account with HDFC Bank. They apply HNI till 3 pm and retail till 4 pm. When 2 issues close on the same day, they have actually extended one of the two ipos by 10 mins also.

Ita easy to keep funds in say Au bank which gives you a higher interest throughout the year and then do a RTGS to HDFC bank ( would credit in max 15 mins) and then apply via HDFC sec app in flat 30 seconds. Retail applicants can use UPI mandates as well.

I have used Zerodha too in tbe past and actually closed that account. While the brokerage was the Incentive to open there, the service and seamless performance at HDFC won me over.

Good questions and discussion regarding post refund utilization of ipo hni self funding if no further ipo inline. Whats the best use of funds?
1. Put in small finance bank like AU, ujjawan, jana, equitas and earn higher saving rates than normal bank and do rtgs when applying next time.
2. Put in yes bank or idfc where saving rates are relatively higher than major banks when deposit more than 10 lakh. Apply from yes bank or idfcfirst ASBA.
3. Do sweep out feature with existing bank to have FD of the funds and next time sweep in back to bank when applying ipo.

What other ways and what best ways of having better interest on funds lying post ipo refund. Pls share your experienced views.

@Niteenipo, Samjos & Smart. Thank you all for your valuable comments and suggestions. It seems AU Small Finance Bank is better option. No need to open FD A/c, as it gives 7% interest for SB A/c itself and keeps cut off time at 3.pm. It is a listed entity and covered by RBI rulings. Mr. Samjos may kindly intimate the maximum limit of online Fund Transfer facility in AU Bank. If the maximum limit is bigger in size, say Rs.20 lakhs or so, and if we smell something wrong with AU, we can quickly transfer our money to four/five accounts with other bank(s) and escape from the likely hardship.

@Avenue. Not only you and me, there were lot of people affected. Both Clean Science and GR Infra were commanding very heavy GMP at that time. Even they were listed with 100% premium and still commanding. There were no other good IPOs at that time. Everybody was knowing the high growth potentials of both the IPOs. The ICICI Securities Ltd is one of the Lead Managers in the case of GR Infra. There was no technical glitch in the ICICI DIRECT website at that time. It was functioning with same speed as I could apply four retail applications with two different accounts after 2.45 pm and before 3 pm. Most of the people in the lower range of HNI category (say less than Rs.1Cr.) use to apply between 2.30 pm to 3 pm only by seeing the position at 2.30 pm. Normally, in the case of good IPOs, the bid volume of NII at 2.30 pm will end up with double at the end of the day. Please image the atrocities done to us. Just by blocking us, the elite people have cornered large chunk of these IPOs. I sent several emails and wrote a lengthy complaint letter to the Head office at Mumbai. There is no written reply at all. Please go through the last 4 paras of my complaint and valid questions raised on them. I could not take up the matter with SEBI as they (ICICI) have left no proof of my rejected NII application in the system. Even the screenshot did not contain any reference to my rejected NII application.

“7) In view of the facts and figures explained above with valid proofs, I request you to furnish the following particulars and also arrange for compensation.

(i) Whether you have changed the IPO cut off time of 3.00 pm for NII category and if so what is the present cut off time and from which date onwards this cut off time was changed?

(ii) If cut off time for NII category has been changed then why you have kept common link for both NII and Retail with common “Go” button. In case of different cut off time, you should have kept two links with two different “GO” button with clear indication of cut off time.

(iii) If the cut off time is not changed and will continue for future IPOs, then why my IPO application placed by around 2.40 pm and got processed several stages up to successful fund allocation was finally rejected with remarks “Issue is closed” ?

(iv) If cut off time of 3.00 pm has been changed and fixed at some other time prior to 3.00 pm, whether any prior notice was issued to alert the clients like me? The fact is, I have not received any alert in this regard to my registered email address or my registered mobile number.

(v) Why you are not showing the rejected IPO applications in the IPO Order Book with timings and reason for rejection for those cases which are allowed in the IPO Window and processed up to successful fund allocation stage and finally rejected?

8) As this is a clear case of deficiency on your part, I hereby claim for compensation from you either by supply of 20 shares of GR Infraprojects Ltd on listing day or by payment of full value of consideration at highest rate on the listing day.

9) I request you to furnish your reply within 3 working days from the date of receipt of this email so as to enable me to take a decision whether to continue with you for applying for future IPOs or not.

10) If my case is not settled in my favour within a reasonable time, I will have to lodge a complaint with SEBI”

All suggestions are great and I would like to suggest another simpler option:
Invest all free funds in Liquid / Overnight Mutual Fund which can be credited back to saving account within 24 hours. I am not sure of the returns but I suppose it will be higher than normal saving interest

@M.K. Agreed... nothing can beat the 7% interest on saving a/c balance and in my message I mentioned normal saving interest (3-4%). 7% interest is too high and is being offered by only a few bank. Mine was only an option for those who do not wish to go for this 7% attractive interest in relatively newer banks.
A good liquid fund surely has a redemption period of one working day. One can try to buy 1000/- liquid fund (say Axis Liquid Fund) and redeem after a week just to check how long it takes for credit back). Yes some liquid fund may take longer but one can always buy the one which he has tested few times.
My suggestion is only for people who do not wish to take hassles of opening new bank account and are Ok with present one.

1) I have used Icici Bank / Icici Direct, Karvy. IIFL and Zerodha. I feel Zerodha is better. I tried Intraday, Delivery,Options trading and I maintain a small portfolio of Rs.10 lakhs shares with Zerodha. As far I am concerned, there is absolutely no issues with Zerodha. Nobody can deny that, as on today, Zerodha is the market leader.
2) Regarding IPOs, my strategy is apply for good IPOs through ICICI BANK ASBA, get the allotment in Zerodha Demat, sell it on the listing day with the brokerage of just 1paise with cascading effect of meager GST charges, get back the sale proceeds in the Bank A/c and reutilize the amount for next good IPO and get 3.5% SB A/c interest. If I switch over to AU Bank as suggested by Mr.Samjos, I can improve and even double my interest earnings without affecting my above strategy.

I tried overnight liquid fund (Axis Liquid Fund). This I did it mainly for the purpose of pledging and creating margins for Options Trading in Zerodha. It gives around 3.5% p.a. only. Further we have to bear some expenditure also. For selling and take backing the money, it takes minimum 3 days. Hence, it is better to keep it in the Bank itself, get the same 3.5% (ICICI BANK. Above Rs.50 lakhs) and also have the immediate liquidity. As suggested by Mr.Samjos, if we go for AU Bank, we will get 7%. But negative points if any are to be analysed before taking a decision to go for AU Bank.

@MK - there are no charges to link FD to Savings account. Assume you have 100 in savings account and 1000 in FD. Your balance will be shown as 100. After you link FD to your Savings, the balance will be shown as 1100. Now if you are allotted IPO for Rs 25, then 25 will be deducted from your savings account and FD will be untouched. However if you are allotted IPO for Rs 101, then 100 will be utilised from savings account, your FD will be prematurely broken and 1 will be utilised from broken FD balance. Also remember not to issue any cheque greater than Rs 100 otherwise any sum greater than 100 will be utilised by prematurely breaking FD.

No problem. The FD can be protected very easily without breaking. We know the likely allotment on the evening of the closing day itself and so if there is any shortfall expected in the SB A/c because of heavy allotment, the same can be made good in the next working day so as to keep the FD A/c intact. The allotment/unblocking/debiting will happen on 3rd /4th working day only. I think the AU Bank is the best option. No need of opening FD. We will get solid 7% interest in the SB A/c and also use it for IPO ASBA application. The cutoff time for NII is upto 3.00 pm. What more we want? Ninteen ji may please share his experience with AU Bank still more, if he is frequently using the AU Bank for ASBA facility in addition to Kotak. I like to have A/c with AU Bank only, if all my requirements are ticked OK.

@DevBull - I''ve not used AU "Small Finance Bank". Kindly check if AU fits your risk appetite.

Further bad news in for Indian markets. Reliance - Aramco deal is differed (mostly cancelled). Due to this Reliance has withdrawn its application with NCLT for segregating its O2C. Reliance might correct on Monday.

@M.K: i feel for your 480 lots, you can try with 381 and 100 lots from 2 applications to have better chances in both if subscription remains less than 400X. Remaining you can decide accordingly as per subscription around 2.30pm, means if it looks below 300X total at 2.30pm, then you can make it even 281 and 200 lots, or if it looks more than 400X then you can make it as noorul said. No one knows how much gocolours will subscribe as per recent factors, lets see still funded HNI''s will take upper hand or things come to reality.
I am still on my earlier prediction of around 300-350X and max 400X but lesser side it can be <= 250X also.

Thanks @mravi sir , dev bull, avenue, nithin, samjos for there valuable inputs.. and at last i also want to share my views in this subject.. i hve my funds in kotak d reason is that very healthy balance sheet.. earlier i used yes bank but money crises in that bank force me to switch.. and peace of mind is what a i put on top rather than .5% or 1% extra interest rate... After all its matter of blood n sweat money of a whole life.. so request u all give to give a second thought before switching to Au small , equitas , ujjivan or anyother.. becaz cover or insured amount is only 5 lakh per ac.. as per govt new rules and guidance.. in every bank.. so one must sidelining d greed before parking there hard earned money..

You have a fair point about having a secure bank in these uncertain times. After an earlier discussion with Mravi I''ve had RBL at the back of my mind. I have nri FDs with HDFC bank but interest rates have steadily declined and now 4.90%

Another argument I''d put forward is if we are really looking at bank interest gains then it betrays a lack of confidence in our principal play, that is stocks. Stock gains should be good enough to compensate lower bank interest

I note and agree with @noorul point of small finance banks. But I still believe though yes bank, IDFC first or a RBL bank balance sheet are not comparable with bigger banks like HDFC or Kotak or Icici, the chances of big risk to our money in those banks (yes or RBL) are very less (Now almost all banks are more vigilant than 2 -3 years ago). However, its up to the individual to take his/her decision based on the risk appetite.

On ABSL AMC, yes still holding. Still its huge allotment around 1.6 C, not thinking to average now and concentrating on IPO only. I agree with you that the last Qtr results were very good and expect even better results in Dec Qtr. My personal opinion only: I am very confident that it will give atleast 10% - 15% per annum kind of return for those who hold for few Qtrs. I may add some more after next Qtr results, not now.

I agree ABSLAMC looks good for a bounce from sub 500 levels. Yes Go fashion belongs to a sector that´s historically bullish. I hold some ABFRL bought at 170 levels along with rights shares recently issued at 110

You are right about risk in small finance bank, but hdfc/icici banks were also small once upon a time, rbi is now much more vigilant, & I am partly ready to accept that risk, partly trying with fd overdraft. 😄

@M.K. - kotak Bank charge 2-3% as of charge when giving od on fd.
Also why you do rtgs from au bank to hdfc? My friend has given his demat a/c & other details to au bank. On last day of ipo, au person comes with prefilled ipo application, friend signs it keeping share applied figure blank, & call around 2.55pm to au bank & say final figure of no. Of share applied. He had got several allotment also.

@snipperRaj - sweep in & out is useless if you using your amount frequently, because fd from idle fund in savings ac bears interest for the period it is been in form of fd. So if you are using your fund say every 10-15 days (there are always good ipo needing NII application every 10-15 days), 10-15 days sweep in fd gives fd rates of 15 days which is almost near to savings ac interest rate, often less. To keep amount in small finance bank is much worthy interest rate wise, but considered risky as compared to big banks.

@Devbull - I have no idea about max online transfer limit. Somebody may enlighten us.

@Minal Patul - If you fear small finance bank, only least costlier & timely available option is to have fd (current fd rate 5-5.25% in big banks), avail od facility, & pay od interest for ipo applied days (for income tax purposes, for individuals less than 60 years, get 10,000 rebate on savings ac interest but nil discount fd interest :) )

@Avenue - I really doubt that from mutual fund you can get money in 24-48 hours. Besides all this short to ultrsshort mf gives dividend in range of 4-5%.

I don''t have an account with AU. I just mentioned that if someone wants an option of RELIABLE applications along with the higher interest rate, then a RTGS can be done. Filling a Blank paper form and calling at 2.55 pm is a recipe for disaster sooner or later.

2-3% rate charge is over and above the F.D. Rate. So effectively you end up paying say 6.5+2.5=9% minimum for the duration of the OD being used. Not that attractive unless used for ipos have high gmp and <150x hni subscription.

@ M.K. fd od ( fixed deposit overdraft) means if I am earning 5.15% on fd, od charges 2% over fd charges, means during that ipo oeriod, i am effectively earning 5.25-2=3.25% interest on fd during ipo time.

Applied 165 lots from IDFC First bank. Hoping for best.

Last time I couldn’t apply in Tarsons because of IDFC IPO section was down on last day. Then applied from Zerodha using kotak upi in retail but unfortunately didn’t get UPI mendate notification and application was rejected. So didn’t want to wait for last day this time.
