Can you please give examples of cases they don't take up and how their underwriting practices are more out any checks and even for own damage insurance, I have not heard of anyone being denied , at least for new cars and renewals.

Also, is it true that they pay the maximum commissions ? How would you rate their competitors in terms of commissions ?

I was under the impression that in Autos everyone gets third party insurance out any checks and even for own damage insurance, I have not heard of anyone being denied , at least for new cars and renewals.

I will share a example of one of my family members which might help you. The members possess two cars, a Wagon R, 2018 Model and a Tata Safari 2014 Model having Comprehensive and Third Party insurance respectively until last year. When renewing in the current year and exploring options, Tata Safari was a clear avoid from Digit which we already had in our minds and rightly so, the quote from Digit for renewal was never received. As for Wagon R, probably owing to its age and it already being under Comprehensive cover, Digit gave us a different response to get in touch with one of the executives to know more about renewal. So, this is from a close-up personal experience with respect to their underwriting policies.

Also, in one of health policies of another member who had no pre existing comorbidities, digit offered the best package with overall coverage at an equivalent good premium rate unlike others, including Lombard in this case. @colcol

​@MuStrFc Thanks for the example, very helpful. My personal experience has been very different. I was helping an elderly female relative who doesn't drive and whose car's insurance had lapsed, and every insurer provided a third party insurance quote without any checks. I finally chose Acko for her because it was the cheapest and most convenient.

Out of curiosity, which company finally covered the Safari in the example you provided ?

Not so surprisingly, it was New India 😅 and that too without any checks. I know that in third party there aren't many but still no cross check from them though i can vouch the vehicle is in good condition till date. @colcol

Funnily enough , in the case I mentioned , the original insurer was New India and they refused to renew the comprehensive insurance after it lapsed without some repairs to the car, even though it was obvious that the car is not used at all and only serves the purpose of preventing someone else from occupying the reserved parking space. @MuStrFc

​@MuStrFc  third party insurance are for damage to other vehicles and people during accident, so it does not require any check for vehicle as insurance uska hai hi nahi
