GIC Ipo allotment prep has started but seems karvy is not quite ready https://kosmic.karvy.com/eipo/ipoapp.aspx
GIC is a massive IPO and delay in finalizing price shows govt and GIC s nervousness as this is a mega ipo like coal India and more Imp like ONGC (which tanked below ipo) and worst case Rpower.. Time will tell which way this ipo goes as such poor figures means big problem for govt and it will need to absorb retail selling vide LIC etc now that UTI is out of bounds once trading begins big brokerages will short ... Will govt not care about small investor (history shows otherwise)? will it focus on financing the next ipo instead ? time will tell....
karvy is not ready because they have no option but to allot shares to every legit retail applicant. and for them it must be very hard to reconcile with as there won''t be no evil satisfaction this time of depriving people of allotment and rights. a slaughterer has been asked to set the lambs free.
If the govt or gic does the stupidity of not pricing it at low band then 1. Gujju bhais will loose trust in Modi govt ipos 2. Govt cos NIC etc will have to give substantial discount in short term 3. only stupid people would subscribe henceforth in govt ipos
There can be legal cases and pils etc as this issue price discovery is just lic and lic which is one of the owners of this co !
GIC IPO will not be listed at discount. Govt. of India wishes to further it''''s disinvestment process. GIC is a GOI disinvestment, if the retail investors suffer any loss in this IPO on the day of listing, the retail investors will be demotivated to subscribe to any other IPO by any PSU in a short future period. This will hamper the disinvestment target of the GOI. To avoid any such demotivation and thereby reluctance of the retail investors in the future, the GOI will ensure that the retail investors don''''t suffer in any manner for atleast a short forseable period. Thus GOI will put its financial institutions on standby and order them to buy at amounts that don''''t hurt the retail investors. The GOI can also gift the retail investors in DIWALI by giving away profits by raising the listing price, so as to promote more retail participation for future IPO''''s of govt. PSU''''s. In any manner what so ever, it does not seem that GIC will list at a discount. Also, if this opens at a discount, the retail participants who have just started to open up their wallets thereby contributing to the oversubscriptions to the IPO may again close their wallets. Institutional investors and HNI’s who have profited heavily from the IPO season this year, cannot afford to lose the retail enthusiasm, they are also well aware of the fact that if this opening hurts retail investors, they may not be able to make much earning in the forthcoming IPO’s and hence they will also ensure not to let this IPO list at a discount. This IPO was undersubscribed by retail investors and the GOI and other financial institutions will make it a point by giving huge profits to the retail subscribers so that those who missed it would regret it and not miss future IPO’s. In any case GIC will be a huge success.
If government really wants to reward retail investors then it should reduce cost of acquisition of these share for retailer investors but that may not happen.
Rs 2 Lac applicants have come for listing gains only.
NHPC listed at 42 and made a low of 36.65 versus issue price of 36. Premium Listing. It did what IPO aspirants want. Game over in one day. Those who held for long term have their other reasons to do so.
I have applied on cut off..if price is set which is lower of the cut off....then what price of one share will be considered for me.? It will be cut off price or the decided price..?

''Cut Off Price'' is the lowest price in the price band at which issue is fully subscribed. All the allotment shall be done on this fixed or ''cut off'' price.
If said ''cut off'' or fixed price is below 912/-, say 892/-, you account shall be debited for only with that amount, means 13,552/- (892 - 45 x 16) and remaining 320/- (13,872/- - 13,552/-) shall be unblocked.
I applied 3 a lot at price 855-45=810 rs? Is any chance to get allotment in RII?

Very remote chance of price to be decided on lowest of price band, hence bleak chances of allotment to you irrespective of the fact that RII''s portion is not fully subscribed.

If I remember right, GIC PE is around 30 as against Lombard 50+ and SBILIFE 60+. GIC should list above 1,000 mark.
You are right Gamble .. But the PE OF GIC will be same as it is today on account of hefty dividend payment... So valuation wise if we consider present value of future cash flows, it is a good investment option as good as ICICI lombard
Retail investor. Don''t get panic to book profit as because GIC can trade in discount even if it opens in premium. Wait for atleast 5 days and you all will have better opportunity to book profits. I don''t know what others are saying but as per my view, I don''t think GIC will open above 920. Yeah but it will not go below 880 , atleast on the listing day itself. Set a stop loss, all those who fear to loose money. If you have enough money, please consider it for long term.
Many[RII] have sold icici lombard on listing day other hv sold due to sequential ipo is about to come, but kash hold kiye hote!!
Decisively up 10% in 20 days, or 0.5% each day.
Result update(YOY) :
EPS 4.5 vs 3.80 PAT 204cr vs 171cr(up 19%)
Going at perfect speed,''''within 1 month'''' task(task no 2) has completed today, only tgt remains is now 810 i.e (13 % upside pending ) and it has 340 days(i.e each day 27 paisa!!) , let see if can complete or not
