In case of GIC, allotment is not important, allotment price is important. Fixing the price near by lower band would be good for govt. and investors as well. Happy Dipawali.
I remember IPO of TCS in 2004, price band was 775 -900, IPO was over subscribed 2.5 times but Mr. Ratan Tata decided to fix the price at Rs 850/=. Investors made handsome gain on listing. In this case we cant hope more from Mr. Jaitely.
How funny is IPO market. A chips company demands high gmp and a biggest reinsurer in a country is in discount mode. Time to think where we are heading in this crazy ipo market.
This greedy government won''t accept 855, just like price of petrol and diesel , Pray to god that jaitlyji not rise the price to 967/-

Retail investors need not worry. Apart from the 5% discount, I hope the Issue will reward allottees, if recent Public Sector Units viz., HUDCO and COCHIN SHIP YARD are any indication.
Jaha this can be the only reason.Since the inception of the current government, it''s not has been ''Jitna nikalwa sakte ho Abhi nikalwa lo janta ke paas se, shayad 2019 ke baad mauka ji na mile.''
Hi Friends... I bidded for GIC IPO and accidently bidded for 2.04 Lakhs overall. Now people are telling that I will be considered as HNI during share allocation and hence will not get discount of Rs. 45. On the top of it, this IPO looks to be get tanked on the day of listing. Please guide me as I am very scared. I have got this money by selling my "Khet" and then looks like I am loosing it in Share market.
Just relax, things that you cannot change are not worth worrying for, you have subscribed, now wait for allotment and on the day of listing exit slowly, in 20 share lots, don''t spike the market by putting your entire lot on sale at once and don''t worry about your money, you will not make a huge unbearable loss, if you will make any loss, the amount would be very marginal and you will be able to recover it soon. Relax and next time, only put the money that you think you can live without in equities (if you are simply speculating).
We will try to help you by not selling it below 912. Careful Bro. Some Banks actually block money with retail discount. It''s easier to understand what category you are bidding in.
may be i am wrong. you will be qualified for the retail discount after considering the Rs 45 less per share,
please refer to the post by DIAS (post no 738), as the ASBA banking system used there for appliying was automatically showing the maximum amount retail can apply with Rs 45 discount.
devil is in the detail ,, if ur case can get rejected for technical reasons esp if u have marked retail indl and not hni ... online then i guess it may have auto changed it ... offline then pray and go back to farming if u make a profit or loss !! galati na daurahna
areee khet bechke paisa share market kyu lgaya ....or lagaya bhito gic mai kyu...wo bi theek hhai lekin 2L se upar kyu apply kiya...Dont worry we all pray It will open at 930

Something is cocked up at the backdoor in GIC. Final issue price is not decided yet. Allotment can be on Monday but I am wondering why issue price is not declared yet.

Being the first to list Public Sector Insurers, surely list above the issue price. Retailers need not panic even if it goes below issue price intraday; closing price will be higher than the issue price, lest next PSU Insurers like New India slated to open in a few days gets poor response.
Please see guys hdfc sec posted the Allotment date as 27 Oct. : So sit relax & enjoy Diwali https://www.hdfcsec.com/productpage/general-insurance-corporation-of-india-ipo
As per tentative schedule of IPO listing is on 25th oct,2017. When the tentative listing date is 25th Oct, how does the question of date of allotment as 27th Oct arise. Someones'' reading is incorrect.
