Hi Mahesh - Total appln in retail was not 220905800. It was 235717400 and you can check it out in the link posted by you. Thus 11.5378 oversubscription - 1500/11.5378 = 130.00745. But I think they rounded of o/s to 11 and 1500/11=136.3636, rounded off to 136. So, be happy and Happy Investment!
hello friends i am not able to understand the basis of allotment of first source. according to web site http://www.nseindia.com/content/ipo/ipo_current_fsl.htm total bid from retail investors at cut off was 220905800 and the no of shares reseved for them was 20430000. then the person who is applying for 1500 should get approximately 1500*20430000/220905800 = 138 shares atleast. where atleast our 2 shares are going. can anyone explain me..thank you
To those who feel frustrated at the mechanism of proportionate allotment, please read page 305 of prospectus where it states : "The total number of Equity Shares to be allotted to each category as a whole shall be arrived at on a proportionate basis, which is the total number of Equity Shares applied for in that category (number of Bidders in the category multiplied by the number of Equity Shares applied for) multiplied by the inverse of the over-subscription ratio." - Category depends on how many shares you applied for - 100, 200, 300, etc.
I couldn't get the basis of allotment details for Firstsource, so I haven't worked it out. So, I worked out allotment for a few of the earlier issues and found them to be almost accurate (However, under certain categories, there have been some reductions in the number of successful retail investors - this I think was to make for the rounding up in some other categories). So, my advice is - apply for the maximum number and you will increase your chances. For those who do not get firm allotment, in most cases you will only get the "market lot" - in this case 100.
its no use blocking our money. My friend applied for 400 shares and he got 100. I applied for 500 and I got nil. What is this happening??????? Quite confusing. No use of investing in IPOs, better to go for secondary market and make short-term gains.
in reply to khan & sharekhan, its not fault of sharekhan, if you apply for 3 or 4 lots..& issue subscribe more then 7-8 times in retail, there is no possiblelity of firm allotment for you. it is done by lottary with minimum lot size. Always go for maximum i.e. 1 lakh to get firm allotment..its increase your chance to get firm allotment.
