Kotak active money is flexi FD which you can use in IPO,

​@PavanM  For kotak open normal FD and the link your Fixed Deposit to your saving or current account by using Net Banking:

1) Go to Investment -> Deposits
2) Link a Fixed Deposit to Savings / Current Account

Once the FD is linked you can apply for IPO utilizing the FD Fund without breaking it.

May I ask who are these 40 people to you ?? And how do you manage taxes on gains if some of them are not filing returns.. and how does this kind of system work .. profit basis model or fixed amount per application.. and do you send them money to apply coz 3rd party banned now.. or you keep it in their accounts.. or it is their own money and you charge them some account handling fee or something...
i am genuinely keen to know and would appreciate a reply with all answers.. thanx

How much amount roughly you have applied.

1 BHNI lot - 10L
40 BHNI lot - 10L * 40 = 4 Cr
Profit on 1 BHNI lot is approx = 2L (considering 100% listing gain)
Profit on 4 BHNI lot = 8L

Profit % = 8/400 *100 = 2%

In case you had taken funds from finance company, profit % would be still lower.

Instead of applying from various accounts, transferring funds etc etc

Even if you have directly bought any blue chip stock it could have given approx or more the returns in one week.

No offence please, I was just wandering why people apply from so many accounts.

And Secondary market/MF/other investment not give this kind of Very low Risk returns. SO I AM HAPPY

Breaking the FD means loss is certain but getting allotment is still based on luck. If I were you, I would use whatever fund is available to apply.

if it is in Kotak or RBL or Yes bank, you can still convert that into a linked FD and apply without breaking it. 😊

​@MVP Sir, i wish that was the case, but the funds are parked in IDFC which does not offer linked FD to be usable for ASBA.

That manager knows nothing about the product.

i m using it... open acc without any doubt and try yourself, u can create MM fd online, so dont forget to select money multiplier fd othrwise normal fd wil get created, and select 1 year or more time period for this fd

​@PavanM YES and KOTAK banks also provide this facility with different names, i do not know the names..i got this information from this wonderful forum..

Charges are really miniscule compared to the gains you can make in an IPO...

​@PavanM Other than ICICI : Kotak, Yes Bank, RBL, IndusInd, AU SFB offer this facility.

To avoid any sort of charges, apply via ASBA and as most allotment is released late night, you will have ample time to fund savings account if successfully allotted.

Only when the savings account balance is inadequate, the FD gets broken

if having 3-4 FDs of like 2L, 3L... and if total amount is sufficient for BHNI.

So, can we apply for BHNI

Yes bank offers the feature. I will create one with AU SFB and Kotak since others have mentioned.

I tried with IDFC sweep in FD but it seems, they don't offer it. I was able to apply but my application ultimately got rejected. Now waiting for response from my RM.

Guys, I did select Money Multiplier FD and submitted the request. However, after submitting my FD request, ICICI is showing FD type as Linked Fixed Deposit, but not showing as Money Multiplier !! is this expected or something went wrong & my money went to wrong deposit type where I cant apply for IPO thru ASBA? I will anyways try to apply for IPO and check tomorrow or day after tomorrow. but curious or worried if it is considered as Money Multiplier or not !!

​@CASuraj IDFC Linked / Sweep FD cannot be used for ASBA. The FD amount will not be available to be used for IPO. RM at my affirmed me the same.

@PavanM Linked Fixed Deposit is the intended feature as FD is linked to savings account. Money Multiplier is just a marketing term

It is actually MM FD. Go to mini statement there you will see Total available balance = Account balance + Linked FD.

​@MVP , @MuStrFc Thanq.. I had applied & was able to submit my HNI application. Those who are using this feature in Kotak , Yes bank, please let me know what type of FD we should out clearing home loan. got some HNI allotment in only 4 IPOs in the entire last year though.

​@safeguard Yes, if you are having those 3-4 Money Multiplier FDs whose combined total is above what is required for BHNI then you can apply, but, make sure you have enough funds for other day to day expenses too in your savings account above 10k..

What if i did 10 lakh fd , and applied for bHNI 10L and got allotment for 2L will FD break partially 2L or 10L Full ?

Is there any way i get alloment status before debiting fund from bank so that i fund account before debiting so to avoid breaking FD

​@Keshav AB  In ICICI MM FD will break partially for 2L.
But if you want to avoid breaking FD use ASBA mode where funds are debited the next day of allotment, ample time to move funds from another bank Ac..
And anyways for 10L you have use ASBA not UPI..

​@PRAJIT AU Bank has this feature called as Sweep-In FD. That can be created online as well, as well as by branch visit.

After that it gets linked to your savings and is eligible for IPO application

​@safeguard  Is ICICI still opening regular savings accounts with a minimum balance of 10k/25k? Because I also visited and came to know only offline privilege accounts are being opened with a minimum balance of 100k and no online/zero savings account opening.

​@MaheshJain I had a similar experience, they were not ready to open a basic minor account, infact they quoted there website is wrong/not updated on min balance . I got it opened in a different branch of ICICI thru known contact, later go to know..they have some targets till the end of this financial year. So they are pushing ppl to open higher end accounts or keep higher Monthly Average Balance. Last I heard, zero balance account can be opened.

​@Rajiv RR I share your observation. It seems like with March end approaching, there seems to be a push to open high-end accounts. However, I've checked online regarding digital savings account which was also zero balance account earlier, later 10k min bal. Now, their website displays an error with no option to open the account online.

Any this type of service available in hdfc or sbi ?

​@Harsh Newguru No, HDFC or SBI do not offer such facility.

I am using this facility of ICICI Bank. Name of FD is faxi FD. I apply with that in IPO, and amount is debited only if IPO is allotted otherwise FD is intect.

​@PRAJIT MM FD interest rate is the same as normal FD.
Interest rate from 15 months to 2 years is 7.2%

​@MuStrFc sir, can you plz reply, I have 51 k balance in kotak, activated acitve money, so 25 k balance showing as 6 mo fd @ 7 %
now if I withdraw 35k, i'll still be successfully apply a retail 15 k app ? or as balance goes below 25k minimum req. fd will break, this is so confusing.

​@Ascension If you withdraw 35K, and you already have 25K as ActiveMoney FD, and 25K balance in savings currently. First your savings amount is exhausted, i.e. 25K, and balance 10K is taken from FD. This leaves you with 15K balance in FD, but as your savings account is below threshold of minimum balance, this 15K FD balance will also get transferred to savings to maintain minimum balance.

So, to summarise : first savings account is exhausted (keeping in mind the minimum balance to be maintained) and then FD

amount is used if there is any shortfall.
