Dear friends i am new to this forum, I just want to know if you are applying in an IPO and sell it on listing day after booking some profits how much tax you have to pay. Because all the transactions can be tracked through PAN no.

While selling the shares, if you pay the security transaction tax (STT), STCG will be taxed at a flat rate of 15%. Additionally, if your total taxable income during the financial year exceeds Rs.1 crore,(meaning once ur income even if it is only STCG and no other source of income) you will have to pay surif surcharge is also applicable in your case). However, if STT is not paid, then STCG shall be taxable as per the applicable tax slab rate. Further, surcharge, if applicable, and education cess will have to be applied.

incase u keep sell after 12 months and paid STT then Nil if you have not paid STT then 20% index CPI

Hi Since Sasonline doesn''t have option to purchase IPO . I have purchased equitas in my friend ac. kotakmahindra. Now I want to transfer from kotak to sas is there any min. Number of days should I wait? Or can I transfer from tomorrow itself? Please suggest
