Need to close and existing offline account with a bank and transfer the shares to the new account. Existing procedure of submitting physical DI slip to bank after sell of a share is very cumbersome

Me and my wife has a old demat account with a bank where sell of shares have to be carried out through a human broker and after sell, physical DI form need to be filled and submitted to the bank branch. IMO it is good just for ipo pop. It is not a super fundamentally strong and ever growing type of business to plan for very longterm and make it a portfolio stock

Technically yes.

You have to use the ASBA facility provided by the bank.

Please login to your daughter's net banking account and check. HDFC, SBI, etc. offer this facility for sure.

For Minor's account, we recommon ProStocks.com. They offer AMC free demat with Rs 1000 refunable deposit.

You cannot use UPI to apply in IPO using Minor Account until they have their own UPI id.

Note

1. The primary bank account holder's name, primary demat account holder's name, and name on the IPO application should be the same.

2. Banks don't give net banking access to minor customer IDs. They give access to net banking using the guardian's customer ID. With this, you can't create a UPI ID for the minor.

Yes, I did the same on BHIM and it's working properly but the doubt created when I applied first time for lic ipo and the application got rejected.

"Minor's above the age of 15 get access to net-banking and thus can create UPI ID. Once you have UPI ID setup, you could apply in an IPO from any stock broker who offers UPI-based IPO application. Using UPI, a minor can apply up to Rs 5 lakhs of shares in an IPO."

Does the minor in your case has net banking access? When you login the minor's bank account (net banking), do you use your customer ID or minor's customer ID?

in my case, my kid is still 14 so my kid's bank account is linked to my customer id.

I have applied IPOs on ProStocks minor account using her UPI ID (created on gpay), it worked for me. we got few IPO allotments.

In my case my daughter is 17. She is single holder of her account but sbi is not allowing her net banking for transactions. Net banking for balance enquiry and other things but not for transactions.

I am trying to open demat account for my SON and my HUF. I have all the details including PAN card and bank account.
So far reached to couple of brokers like Angel, Groww, Paytm and everybody refused to open minor and HUF accounts. Can you advise if prostocks is the only option for Minor account. Please also advise where we can open HUF demat accounts.
