Here is a verbatim transcript of the exclusive interview with Falguni Nayar and Salil Pitale on CNBC-TV18. Also watch the accompanying video.
Q: What would you attribute this success in terms of subscription of DB Corp. Is it largely that the IPO chose to leave a little more on the table?
Nayar: I would like to attribute it to two or three multiple factors. Clearly it a very strong franchise in terms of the newspaper franchise in non-English language. In terms of their readership, the multiple language exposure that they have, their readership is almost 15.5 million and circulation is almost 4.1 million. So, I think it is a very strong brand and a strong company.
But yes, the second important thing is that in terms of the valuation, the way the deal was priced, it was appropriately benchmarked with other sector comparisons and the company was seen as a very strong company coming at a right valuation. So that led to this huge response. In fact the institutional subscription as you maybe aware was 68.5 times.
The interest was evident from an anchor book also; the anchor book was really well subscribed by people like Fidelity, GSIC, ICICI Pru Life, and Nomura. All the good quality names and couple of other interesting clients also were in the books. So I think in that sense the interest in the anchor book was also tremendous and that led to a huge success in the main deal.
DB CORP SEEMS TO BE GOOD IN LONG TERM. AS FAR AS LISTING GAINS ARE CONCERNED IT ALL DEPEND ON MARKET CONDITION. MARKET MAY TAKE POSITIVE NOTE IN NEW YEAR
205 Natarajan The total retail portion was subscribed to the extent of 3.4209 times. Out of the above, 3.2 times at cut-off. The calculation is based on the data published at NSE website.
Dear All, Stil some among us are talking about cheque clearance.Dear friends SEBI has brought the concept of ASBA where you need not to deduct the amount from your account .It will deducted once you get the allotment. So I advice you to use ASBA and earn interest also because the money stays in your account only till the allotment of shares.
Though the retail portion was subscribed by 3.2 times, those who applied at the upper end of the price band or cut off price could be a little lesser. Anybody, any idea?
I agree with the comments made by Krish The posts should be useful for other readers. Let us not waste others time by posting some trash and downgrade this forum. This forum is very useful for those who are following primary markets and the moderator is doing a good job, and I myself has migrated hee from other forum. I request all trash messages shoud be removed immediately after posting, if not prevent them from posting. We all should support good and thoughtful messages esp from boarderers such as Ravi.
We should not give much imoprtance to GMP as Mr. Ravi rightly pointed out once.
