First of all, you should apply a PAN card for Minor..Minor Aadhaar Card and its father's Aadhar card can be applied to the PAN card and it is also necessary to have a date of birth certification.After this, Minor's demat account will be opened on any DP..Trading account will not open yet..You will have to transfer alloted shares to your account in the demat account of Minor..That's why it would be better for both father and child to have a demat account on a single DP..

To answer your question:
1. Yes you can open demat for 3 year child.
2. First you have to get the PAN Card. This is simple.
3. Second you have to add him/her to you bank account. Do not open new bank account even if bank office pushes you.
4. Once you have PAN Card of Minor, you could open "both demat and trading account". Note that only equity delivery trades are allowed in minor account which is sufficient for most.

We recommend every IPO investor to open account for minor to increase the chances of allotment. Look for broker who offer ZERO AMC demat account for life.

It is also recommended to open a HUF account in each family. This requires a new HUF PAN Card and later HUF Demat account. With this account you can apply 1 additional application in IPO.

the name of my child is also included in it.

then how can i apply in the name of my child?
