Huge negative for #SME companies
#SEBI and Exchanges in a joint meeting have decided to introduce ESM framework for Micro-Small Companies (on main board with market cap less than 500 crores) with effect from June 05, 2023.
The following criteria shall be made applicable for selection of stocks in the Enhanced Surveillance Measure for Micro-Small Companies
A. Shortlisting criteria (Stage 1): Either below condition 1 or 2 is met:
1) High–Low Price Variation (based on corporate action adjusted prices) in 3 months OR 6 months OR 12 months > 1 Standard deviation (of High-Low variation of all Micro-Small Cap Companies as defined above).

AND
Minimum threshold of High-Low variation would be as under:
3 months > 75%,
6 months > 100%
12 months > 150%.
2) Close–to–Close Price Variation (based on corporate action adjusted prices) in 3 months OR 6 months OR 12 months > 1 Standard deviation (of Close–to–Close Price variation of all Micro-Small Cap Companies as defined above).

AND
Minimum threshold of Close-to-close variation would be as under:
3 months > 50%
6 months > 75%
12 months > 100%.
The following securities shall be excluded from the process of shortlisting of securities under ESM:

· Public Sector Enterprises and Public Sector Banks

· Securities on which derivative products are available.

Thanks for replying. In Angel one is there any problem in IPO Listing day Preopen buy or Sell orders?

I don't know if zerodha also has this problem. But preopen is not allowed in several sme ipos on kotak, icici direct, and angel. I think it depends on listing category and mcap but sometimes it's random and i think it is just callousness of brokers. In kotak a few times I have circumvented the preopen problem by calling my trader. Icici is worst as many times it does not allow sell on listing day at all atleast till noon. In angel their rms policy does not allow trading more than 2lakh worth in a day based on several financial parameters.

Pre open trading is allowed in angel. Previously it was difficult as they had not permitted on app and one had to call on customer care for placing order. Now that is also not the case. One can sell on app itself in pre open.

Only requirement is i think you need to have active POA.

I like prostocks due its customer care. Very efficient

What about 5paisa ? Is it ok for SME IPO Preopen trade ?

@Riyansh - I would recommend you to avoid 5paisa if you are planning to use it for IPO's, buybacks, OFS, etc.
Their interface is not transparent at all and you wouldn't even know if your buyback/OFS orders are correctly placed or not.
5paisa customer service is also shit.

I would any day recommend Zerodha for IPO's/buybacks/OFS but you if you trade in f&o with large sums of money Zerodha does have frequent glitches and can be avoided.

@Riyansh I dont know who is best or good. But ANGELONE is worst for SME IPOs or SME TRADES, as if your trade value is beyond Rs. 3Lakh, you cannot sell online. You have to call and result will be known next day or after market closes.
Even over phone it is not simple, its very complicated as it took 4 days for me to sell in ANGELONE (more than 3 lakh trade).

@ hubballiHuli, I recently sold Innokiaz & Remus Lots in Preopen without any issues in Prostocks.
