2796. Anonymous There are actually 2 balance. 1 that you can see and 1 that you can use. Suppose you had 2 lacs in your bank and you used 98000 in CIL bank will show 2 lacs TILL allotment is done BUT you can withdraw or use 1 lac and 2 thousand only. 2795, At cut-off retail oversubscription is 1.97 so retail will get 203 shares for 400 shares applied . If 35% of Un-Subscribed employee shares are added to retail quota then retail oversubsription is 1.79 in that case retail will get 223 shares for 400 applied

2791 In my case say 1 had one lakh in my account i have applied for Coal india through ASBA. Today i got my passbook entered and it is showing balance as 1 Lakh.

1. My question is 98000 so far is not blocked or with drawn. My account balance shows 1 Lakh. How can we see the blocked amount ??

There are 2 ways of allotment. Pro-rata which mostly is done by PSU or big company and lottery mostly done in huge applications like career point. Govt is known to use pro-rata always in past history giving something each retail investor, small or big. Hence 11-12 shares will be given to 25 applied and around 187-192 to 400 applied.

In ASBA money which you used to apply is BLOCKED which can't be used to withdraw or in any other ways BUT you'll get bank interest AND amount will be counted in quarterly balance which you have to manage.

Once allotment is done and once you are alloted shares the registrar deducts the alloted amount and return you adjusted amount left. Suppose you used ASBA in CIL and applied full 98000, you'll a) get interest on this amount which old way of applying didn't had and even cheque payments are debited before 4-5 days of allotment and you get refund no less than 3-4 days making no interest for 1 week in cheque that is. b) you'll manage quarterly balance too. c) if you get shares worth 50000, 48000 will be added in your account for unalloted shares and 50000 will be transfered to CIL in return of which you'll get shares.

Min Bid lot is 25 so shares below 25 will not be allowted. SO there will be a lottery at lower level in the ratio of 1:1.97 or 1:1.79

2777 Min bidder will not get 11~12 shares as min bid is 25. Nothing will be allowted below 25. So person who bid for 25 one will get 25 and other will get 0. This is pure luck. lottery will be 1:1.97 or 1:1.79. 1.e for every 20 people 10 will get 25 shares each or for every 18 people 10 will get 25 shares each.

Retail who have applied 400 shares will get 223 shares.

Hi, I have applied through ASBA for the first time. My Bank passbook shows full amount so far nothing is debited or blocked from my account. I want to know as per ASBA statements they say amount will be blocked from the account and nothing is shown in the passbook ?? My account shows full amount.

I dont know ASBA procedure, If we apply through cheque then amount is deducted after 2~3 days but in ASBA nothing is deducted from account ?? Or it will be deducted when shares are allowted ?? If yes then they should show some where the amount is blocked if not if by mistake we issue cheque then chances of share allowtment is slim.

If some body knows about ASBA can reply.
