you are right. this 5% discount was there in NMDC what happened. it crashed on listing.

these days even GOVT companies are not coming with fair issue prices. even I applied SJVNL and exited the stock a few 2 days before at cost price.

we should not apply in these GOVT ipos if they are not fairly priced. 5% discount does not guarantee extreme returns

I've been a silent reader of this blog since nhpc. I usually sells my application or expected shares in grey. In recent run I've applied in
Eros(6) not sold
Vatech(14) 100 shares sold @300
Tecpro(4) 100 sold@ 55. Now regarding coal india I will apply 29 application out of which I have just now sold 15 application @ 3600. Now I request the experts sj, gem and especially shreedhar to advice me whether to sell the remaining application or wait for some time(expect it to cross 4000). This is vinod jain posting from mobile.

Gold is most costly. But today it is foolish to buy 10g@30000. In other words, it all depends on share price decided by govt. for Coal India. 5% discount give some cushioning- may be an early exit route for no-profit no loss. But for getting good profit, price decided is critical.
