What was the basis of allotment in Coal India IPO, because me and my friend both have applied for single lot she has got the 25 shares but i have alloted nil shares.

today is a kind of profit booking day for me. I exited completely from 18 shares of VaTech (alloted during IPO), 31 shares of Tecpro which is half of my holding (alloted during IPO) and Half (199 shares) of my holdings in Coal India.

You have choosen the right screen name. Please understand that any good stock is good only up to a particular price. Do not compare coal India with some of the tillu scrips you mentioned, which will not trade the volume of coal india(58 Crores traded today) even in two years trading.

Sold 397 shares stepwise at 308, 325 and 341 and still holding 200 shares for Muhurat Trading.

Also bought 100 shares @ 327 and sold intraday @337.

@4022. a b. There is nothing child like I said. You will see COAL India at unimaginable price very soon. It is the only company in its field. I am very surprised not to see it 100% today while many small companies like Aster, Prakash Steel, Bedmutha, CPIL etc jumped more than 100% in a day and many more than 60-70% in 2-3 days of listing....

@4021. Srini. I was expecting more than 100% jump in Coal India. I am very disappointed now. It must cross 400 at any cost then only I will be able to make some profit. Otherwise COAL India is waste for me. SBI can easily see 7500+ in a year. SBI, HDFC, LIC, Tata Motors and VENKEYS are few stocks which I would like to buy at ANY cost. But that req lots of capital which I don't have :(
