Yes , even I got the same message at 2.50 PM for HNI, then applied in RII one lot. Are the closing times different for HNI and RII?

There seems to be some issue with ICICIDirect IPO bidding process today in Clean Science. I submitted my bid in the morning itself but it is still showing as "under process". It never happened to me before - bid was supposed to be accepted and executed within few minutes of applying. In fact my other application - bidding for GRINFRA was accepted and processed immediately. I called them up to highlight the issue and they assured me that everything will be fine by EOD. I hope they won''t mess up with my Clean Science application. Thanks!

Yes but we wait till last minute to see subscription figures and then apply.
If timing is changed then, they should notify.
Also they place both retail and HNI in same link to apply. And clearly mention their as cut off time as 3pm. They should have seperate links for retail and HNI

in hdfc bank, they mention clearly as cut off time is 3pm for hni and 4pm for retail....
SBI also doesnt accept normally 2 mins before cut off time of 2pm but its too much in icici that not accepting even at 10 mins before....
i applied as hni from idfc first bank at 2.53pm successfully where cut off time is 3pm

There is system issue in ICICIDirect for CST IPO. All HNI bids today are showing as under process.

Good so see I am not alone fool to wait for last minutes. I wanted to apply in NII at 2:50 @ ICICIDirect but i got message that It is already closed. So had to apply 1 lot in retail.

spent one hour do compare and decide between the two but when the time came. Shit happened.

What could be the reason as I have earlier applied even at 2:55 in NII.?
and how to ensure it does not happen again.

And it is not related to one IPO as I tried to apply in NII catagory in both IPos
And both gave the same reply. so issue is with ICICIDirect.

I think it is one off incident due to some technical glitch. In general ICICIDirect is very reliable and personally I never experienced this before - I have been applying to almost all IPOs since last few years. Some I even applied in last minute like 2:58 PM after analyzing the subscription figures and all my such applications were successfully executed in the past. I am not sure what exactly happened today but this is very serious issue - closing the IPO bidding before the cut-off time. I think you guys can approach SEBI or Registrar if you have the proof that you were not allowed to bid within the permitted window. My personal opinion only, consult your financial/legal advisor before making any moves. Thanks!

Everyone should call icici and ask for the reason

Since very first day it was known that both CST and GRIL is going to be oversubscribe across the categories. Than why wait till last moment. Its okay to wait for last day, but at least should apply by 1pm to avoid all last moment issues.

@patel: Ya it was clear initially that both will be overscribed, but by how much that idea can''t be there, by 2.30 on last day, picture will become more clear and since two IPOs were there so as per subscription and listing gains and available funds etc, people were doing calculations till last time....for retail it''s easy to apply anytime...

I dropped a mail to customer support of ICICI direct. I have a proof of it, bcoz didnt took any screenshot as i was in hurry.
But surely will report this. We cannot sit idle with this. I arranged funds from here and there, sold some of my long term holdings as well, and then end up applying in retail
Everyone should complain about this. If not, this will repeat for Zomato IPO.
We still do not know, it was a one-time glitch or they have on-purpose changed the timing for HNI and didn''t notified about it?

It makes sense for someone to wait until last minute to apply in HNI Quota. I will tell you why. There are HNIs who can afford to apply for 350 or 400 lots by means of leverage or whatever. For them it makes sense to apply on first day itself because they are almost guaranteed the allocation irrespective of the final subscription figure. Where as someone like me (who doesn''t want to take leverage but have moderate capital) who can afford to apply in HNI quota if the subscription figure is less than 100x but cannot afford to apply if it crosses that limit, just for example. Why I would want to block my money for a week by applying 100 lots if the final subscription figure is 200x in HNI quota? If my application in HNI category finally depends on lottery instead of getting a confirmed lot then I would just apply for 1 lot in Retail and leave it instead of applying in HNI quota and blocking my entire capital for a week. Waiting until 1 PM also doesn''t work in most cases because as you know bulk of the HNIs applications are initiated only towards the end - around 2:30 PM or so. So it is very common that many will wait until the last minute to decide whether to apply in HNI category or go for the Retail lottery. Just my views. Thanks!

@Kring...EXACTLY thats the reason for the wait. I waited till 2.30pm (cut off 3pm) and decided to go all out for only CST instead of sharing in both as GRIL subscribed higher. But that wait screwed up everything due to YES Bank ASBA glitch in the last step

Question is not to apply on last minutes. ICICIDirect simply can not close the NII subscription before given time and if they do they should be penalized. Here we are just 5-10 but i am sure a large no. of NII applicants on ICICIdirect would have tried on last minute and failed.

Individual complaints at ICICIDirect would not be addressed i feel. Can we, as a group of people who faced this problem approach ICICIDirect, take a collective approach.

At the least we should know what actually happened and ensure it does not repeat again in future.

ipobull - what you are saying is equivalent to : lets say Person X came out of home for a walk, he is following the rules and crossing road from zebra crossing, Person V comes, jumps the signal and hit person X. Now you are blaming, Person X, that he should have not come out for a walk.

@All - Also this may not be a last minute glitch. Ppl tried at 2.30pm as well and got error. I am pretty sure even 1 hour befor as well we would have got the error. Now you cannot call, one hour before as last minute applying.
Infact, till now, we did not know, if its a glitch or purposeful change of time.
I personally feel, its a purposeful change of time. May be they have changed time to till 2PM but did not let us know. I saying it because, when we applied, we did not got technical unexpected error like "server error","server busy" etc. Instead, we got a proper message, that "Issue has been already closed". This is possible only when they have purposefully changed the time.

It is definitely not a technical glitch and is a human intentional or unintentional act.
same message of " issue being already closed" appeared on both IPOs and it was a proper message.
after this message I could easily apply in retail.

i got clear message in a different color "Issue already closed". Appears NII is closed before 3 PM. If closing times for RII & HNI/NII are not same , it is required for them to mention it separately or offer separate tabs to apply with different timings.

Bit off the subject. In your example of opting for single RII application instead of applying with 100 lots in NII in case of oversubscription by 200 times, One can still opt to go for NII. Even if both are lottery, NII chances will be 1 out of 2 as against 1 out of 7 or 9 in RII.

When there are multiple IPOs running in parallel and the secondary market is in a bull run, I would not block all my money for a week in an IPO unless I am assured of one lot at least. It involves opportunity cost. This is my view and views differ from person to person. Thanks!

Hari, you should see debit or ASBA revoke messages from today late evening. However, in case of Clean it''s Link Intime, so you will be to check status only by tomorrow.

In case of GR, registrar is KFinTech, so allotment will mostly be out today after 8 pm. Good luck!

PS - I got allotments in StoveKraft, MTAR, Heranba, Sona, etc. Holding all of them.

Yes, I am also in the same view. All the financials number are great with listed peers. Supeior product and nearly monopoly status will call for a premium. I expect x90 to x100 PE It would trade all time. ROE is 36%. RoCE 76% these number are eye catching to all the fund managers
