When there is a clear good road avalable, why go through the muck.Promoters are notorious, product is being rejected, litigations,so why take risk. Expected to list with 10% discount, and to be available later with 30% discount.think well before you apply.

SOurce:Capital market

1)The US FDA inspected manufacturing facilities in Ahmedabad on November 1st, 2010 and issued a warning letter on the back of violations of CGMP regulations for finished pharmaceuticals.
2)The company and its partners received number of complaints in relation to its products ciplofloxacin, metronidazole and ondansetron, which were recalled by them from united sates, Denamrk, Finaland, Canada, Australia and Newzland. The cost of recall for the five months ended May 2010 is Rs 7.45 crore in aggregate (includes cost of product replacement and write-offs of affected inventory). Product recalls not only entail losses, but also affect the credibility of the company in the market.
3)The registration of the company and its products were suspended by the Drug and Food Control, Kuwait, from June 8, 2010 to August 22, 2010.
4)The margins of its major product propofol (14.8% of gross sales for year ended December 2009) may decline in future on the back of increased competition.
5)One of the erstwhile promoters and relative of Arjun Handa, Sushil Kumar Handa, had promoted Core Healthcare (which was engaged in similar line of business) and had to be wound up due to loan defaults.

Dear Gane,
My view of both MOIL & CLaris exactly matches with that of Chemcho sir.I have same opinion abt Claris as that of him.Companies with corporate governace Issues will always trade at a big discount to listed peers.Himachal futurist,Resurgere,Austral coke ,Pyramid Symira etc are few examples. As said by Chemcho sir Whe nmarkets are going down why should we bother abt such companies.
When IPOs are subscribing heavily during DQE,Persistent times I started trading in Secondary market as market had taken a fall at that point of time.As mentioned at that time I bought tata motors at 800 & Icici bank at 820.Both I sold at 1000.So I made so much profit at that time by goinfg for secondary instead of primary.
I need to sell powergrid at 95 if i need to apply for MOIL.I will not sell it at 95 at any cost.Reliance I am thinking of buying at 950,Tatamotors I am thinking of buying at 1120.With a little bit more fall I will go for quality secondary market companies. For MOIL heavy subscription will be there. Why try my luck in this.I will go & buy secondary market shares.100 PERCENT ALLOTMENT & 100 PERCENT PROFIT.

Dalal street journal views :

The company has done well in terms of its financial performance. The topline stood at Rs 743 crore for the year ended December 2009 and Rs 324 crore for the five month period ending May 2010. The stock on its FY10E post-issue equity is likely to trade at 11.61 – 12.24x. The market capitalization to sales stands at 2.29 – 2.44x on its upper and lower price bands respectively on the post-issue capital. At present, a serious issue looming over the company is the warning letter from the USFDA. Thus, the firm’s supply of products to the US has been stopped till the issue is resolved. This will impact both the topline and the bottomline of the company for the current year. We believe that going forward if these problems are not taken care of, they may have a deterrent effect on the revenues that Claris is earning from the emerging markets. Therefore, at present, we suggest our readers stay away from the initial public offering of the company.

Capital market rating : 45

For the year ended December 2009, consolidated sales decreased by 1% to Rs 743.53 crore primarily due to decrease in sales from domestic markets on the back of decrease in sales of traded products such as IV fluids and cephalosporin. PBT was flat around Rs 143.72 crore. However, due to fall in provision for tax, adjusted PAT was up 16% to Rs 124.89 crore.

At an issue price of Rs 278-293, the consolidated EPS for year ended December 2009 is Rs 20.2-20.3 and PE works out to be 13.8 -14.4 times, respectively. The five months ended May 2010 annualised consolidated EPS works out to Rs 22.4-22.6 and P/E 12.4-12.9. Strides Acrolab, which is another player in injectables, but with revenues also coming from non-injectables, trades at 16 times its TTM consolidated earnings. Another player Venus Remedies trades at 5 times its TTM EPS. Overall Pharmaceutical – Formulations – Indian companies trade around 9 times TTM EPS.

Sreedhar,

Whats your say about this IPO? I am thinking about pass it due to the history of the owners of this company.

Any positive word from you? Or do we think about applying after seeing the subscription level? What is your expected subscription level? Do you have some idea about GMP?

Thanks in advance.
Gane.

CLARIS LIFESCIENCES LTD
YOU MIGHT ALREADY READ ABOUT THE MANAGEMENT IN THIS BOLG I AM ALWAYS AGAINST APPLYING IN PUBLIC ISSUE WERE THERE IS AN CONTORVERSY,SINCE IT IS GUJARAT BASED COMPANY IT IS LIKELY TO OVER SUBCRIBE , MARKETS ARE IN BAD MOOD TODAY AND LIKELY TO BE RANGE BOUND ALSO MAGOR ISSUE OF THIS COMPANY IS THAT FDA HAS REJECTED SOME SAMPLES AND EXPORTS TO USA ACCOUNT FOR 14% IT IS LIKELY TO TAKE AN HIT
TAKE THE RECENT CASE OF RANBAXY LABS SHARE PRICES TANGED ON THE NEWS OF FDA STOPPING ITS SUPPLY LAST YEARY ,AFTER THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED AFTER 6 TO 8 MONTHS SHARES OF RANBAXY ARE RISING
SINCE THE MARKETS ARE DOWN FROM 6300 TO 5900 AND TESTED 5830 TODAY IT IS RISKY TO APPLY
WHILE YOU HAVE MONEY LEFT ON THE TABLE AFTER APPLING FULLS 2 LAKHS LOT OF MOIL AND THEN SHIPPING COPORATION UP TO 1 LAKHS THEN APPLY FOR RS 15000/ ONLY FOR LISTING GAINS
I AM NOT GOING TO APPLY AN SINGLE APPLICATION IN THIS ISSUE
GOOD LUCK

alongwith increase in limit to 2 lakh , the retail portion for MOIL has also been increased. hence retail oversubscription estimate may be 6 times. so the allotment for 2 lakh may be for 35000. 40% of this can be profit which works out to 14000/-

Hi Sreedhar,
considering the current market sentiment, I am avoiding this IPO
and apply only in MOIL and SCI
I have heard that Punjab and Sindh bank IPO is also coming to market in first week of Dec. So I will not be able to arrange funds if I apply in claris, So I am skipping this IPO.

What is ur take on this?
