Listing date?

There is nothing smart or brave of a registering entity to repeatedly deprive a set of people of a chance to earn in the name of lottery. And it's diabolical to invariably allot that exact same set of people when the markets are collapsing. Just goes to show the extremely wicked mindset behind the unfair modus operandi.

0/2 retail. I applied in retail due to better chance. I think few people got multiple applications allotted across categories. It may lead to selling pressure initially.

All my Linkintime + HDFC ASBA allotments thus far came when the markets were heavily down. I'd get allotment even n a 40x subscribed issue when the markets are tanking but get zilch in a thinly subscribed one when the markets are roaring.

I'm of no two minds that they clearly maintain to lists of allottees which they flip based on the market's mood.

There are queries I see on whether one should hold on to the allotment or to sell on listing day.
I, as a matter of policy, sell on listing day, and my experience has been that the ones I used to hold ( several years ago) had not resulted in any more benefit than could be derived on listing day.
So it will depend on perspective of the investor-
1. If you applied for listing gains, stick to it.
2. If you applied to hold, if allotted, you can do so, because revenue guidance for next two years also gives 30% growth year on year. You can't be worst off than on listing day I feel ( ofcourse subject to market fluctuations and sentiments which can change from time to time).
3. The key qs is- should there be a sudden change of heart now that we are allotted and we hear it is a good brand etc? Or should we sell bcos mkt is quite high and all favourables are priced in?
My answer to the same is-
A. Absolutely, all favourables are definitely prices in esp if it lists at about 20% premium
B. If it is a lukewarm listing say at 5-10% premium listing, and if one can have a long term (2 years vision) holding capacity, then one can certainly hold on.
C. Is it a safe stock- certainly a reasoonable growth story though competition from unorganised sector is strong. Mgmt is very mature and experienced. So if volatility can be digested, you can hold on and surf the ride.

0 out of 2 shni and 1 out of 2 bhni.
Second allotment in calendar year 2023 ( again from bhni application) out of about 35 bhni and 20 shni applications across various IPOs ( including sme segment).
