I am wondering why people bid with lower value than cut-off in oversubscribed IPOs. Figures below for CDSL.

PS: In such heavily subscribed IPOs where ''Link (Not) Intime'' is the registrar, people should go ahead and check to see if the RETAIL INVESTORS who got allotment truly exist. Link Intime was incorporated to REJECT applications and not for allotting shares, I mean Charity.

Dmart gmp hover around 220 level and it listed at 300 rs premium...due too hudco...cdsl is suffering in grey market....NII cost is around 100 rs...listing is not in question allotment is lottery...

Cdsl will list at 275 -280 range ..... on higher side may be 305

listing price +/- 225/- 50% profit (appo.)

I expect 40-65% listing gain. But don''t expect further gain after few days of listing.
In the past, we have seen IPO with grand listing and now many of even trading less than the IPO price with few exception. I doubt whether CDSL will sustain double digit growth in near future.

CDSL poised to grow 15-30% on revenue terms. 1. Investor base in India is quite low to compare to Developed Economies & other Emerging Economies. More Indian will come to mkt & DP will be needed, so long term growth is visible.
2. More Co''s are getting listed & listed Co''s expanding their investor base. Fee Income poised to grow significantly.
3. Digital India may be game changer for CDSL(Hypothetical).
4. Only two players in Business, nearly Monopoly & entry barrier business.
5. Proxy play to Capital Mkt success story.
