Yes, for BHNI one can divide total subscription by 5 ( as one will get shares worth 2 L only) to arrive at lottery ratio while on the other hand for sHNI the ratio is based on total subscription as such. We also assume that no technical rejection happened else ratio will be based on actual final figure( say one applied retail along with hni ). Hope I am able to convey in right earnest.

I completely agree that we're all constantly learning. Regarding BHNI subscriptions, dividing the total subscription by 5 to determine the lottery ratio works well since each subscriber receives shares worth only 2 L. However, for SHNI subscriptions, the ratio is based directly on the total subscription amount. I hope this clarifies things effectively.

Suppose on last day of application at 2pm... bhni is oversubscribed by 20 times... so instead of 1 out of 20 (as in retail) in bhni all 5 out of 20 will get proportionate allotments... & if bhni oversubscribed by 5 times, then 5/5 = 1...
So everyone will get proportionate allotment of Rs. 2L... i.e. shares worth Rs. 10L will be given to 5 people worth 2L each, & not worth Rs. 10L to a single person of bhni, & remaining 4 no allotment...

Is this what u guys mean ??

IPO NII Allotment Process
sNII or sHNI Allotment Process
sNII IPO not fully subscribed: If the IPO in subcategory sNII is not fully subscribed (<1x), a full allocation will be made to all applicants.
sNII IPO oversubscribed: If the IPO is oversubscribed in the sNII sub-category (>1x), the allotment to each investor shall not be less than the minimum application size (~Rs 2 lakhs), subject to availability of equity shares in the sNII portion. In this case, a lottery will be conducted.
This is similar to the allocation in the RII category. Instead of one lot, the sNII investor will receive shares worth the NII minimum application size. The NII minimum application size is just above Rs 2 lakhs.

Example: If the IPO in the sNII sub-category is subscribed twice (in terms of applications), one out of two applicants will receive the sHNI minimum application. This is worth approximately Rs 2 lakhs, irrespective of how many shares they have applied for. Applicants will be selected through a lottery process.

bNII or bHNI Allotment Process
bNII IPO not fully subscribed: If the IPO in bNII sub-category is not fully subscribed, a full allocation will be made to all applicants.
bNII IPO oversubscribed: If the IPO in bNII sub-category is oversubscribed, the allotment to each investor shall not be less than the minimum NII application amount. This amount is worth approximately Rs 2 lakhs. It is subject to availability of equity shares in the bNII portion.

This is similar to the allotment in the RII category. Instead of a lot, the bNII investor will receive shares worth the minimum application amount. The minimum application amount is approximately Rs 2 lakhs.
The investment amount limit for Big HNI is at least Rs 10 lakhs. But, in this case, the investors will receive shares worth Rs 2 lakhs on a lottery basis (same as small HNI).

Bid size
1. bHNI: application of greater than 10L to issue size.
2. sHNI: application of size greater than 2L and less than 10L
3. RII: application of size (up to) 15K and less than 10L.

Allotment:
1. bHNI and sHNI: 2L+
2. RII: 1 lot of ~15K

Application wise allotment:
1. bHNI: Roughly devide by 5, actually slightly greater chances as many many bid higher than lower cap.
2. sHNI: same as above also except greater than figures
3. RII: we directly getting application wise data.

Chances: in each case there is lottery.
So allotment will be anything from 0 to your total application count.

All above written considering oversubscription, if issue is under subscribed, then one can get more n more shares as per application size

Agar bhni less than 5 times oversubscribed hua hai to sabko allotment mil jayegi na... because 5/5 = 1 so all will get allotment of 2 lakhs from their application of 10 lakhs.

Ye simple question ka answer do bas thank u.

In this case of bharti hexacom, bhni is oversubscribed by 12.27 times.

Matlab 12.27 / 5 = 2.45 approx

Matlab every 2 out of 5 applicants will get confirm allotment of 13/14 lots on their application of 80 lots..

Am i right ?? Or i have mistaken somewhere ??

1. If 5x bhni subscribed, then every guy will get confirm 2lk allotment . (5/5=1)
2. If bhni is 1x subscribed, then every guy will get 10lk allotment confirm.
3. If bhni is <1x, then every guy will get whatever they bid.
Example: If a guy bidded 20lk ,then he will get 20lk worth of shares.
(Can check boa of popular vehicle ipo, bhni was 0.67 subscribed)
3. Bharati had 2.45x as bhni, application wise. Hence approx 2 out of 5 will get, as pointed by you. Successful applicants will get 2lk worth of shares on their application of 10lk worth of shares.

So why does anyone apply in bhni??
Because the crowd or applications in this category are less, hence very high chances of allotment than any of category. This is true always.
There are very few people who can block 10lk for ipo purposes

​@PKRAJ: I am just going to reply on what you mentioned in your last message. In last 4-5 years of my share market experience, I was not very active in IPO market, but recently I have been very active in last 1 year. In last 6 months, I have got many allotments in retail, 2-3 sHNI allotments and 2 SME IPO allotments. This all with capital investment of 3-4 lakhs only. I always use to get allotment, exit on listing or in some time and reinvest in new IPO.

Unfortunately, I had some personal commitments popped up in March, I withdrew all my IPO funds and I will start from 0 again in couple of months.

Sir, I am making it a target to get hands on bHNI, at least once, in next 2 years. I am building my capital towards it, because this category is MULTIPLIER (if you are allotted the right shares). It may take longer even, I dont know yet, but at least I am trying to build some capital for that.

Why would you say it is IMPOSSIBLE? There can be some person reasons for you of any sort, but it is highly recommended to aim for it at least. I was never sure that I can reach sHNI category ever, as I started my IPO journey last year with just 80k, which multiplied and reached to a good amount for sHNI & SME.

In my earlier posts I have shared that I am retired Govt. Officer and investing in Share Market from 1982. It is well said that do good for others which will result in good for you. By the same manner I started my Share Market journey. Limited funds and division of funds in four parts:
1. FDs
2. Property
3. Share Market : Main long term and IPOs.
4. Cash reserve for regular need and for responsibilities. Many time cash reserves used in IPOs.
I'll call you a very fortunate person received so many allotments. Specially in SME. I have never received any SME allotment for many years. But received sHNI in January 24, Jyoti CNC, February Bls E and April Bharati. So compensated for SME. I never regret bur learn at every stage of my life. Till date I am a learner.
I am at such a age where my needs and ambitions are limited. I believe in

The caution in here is that sometimes in BHNI you end up getting bulk allottement and listing dooms so losses are equally much greater . So weight all the options carefully I can cite some examples for you to study yourself and draw tight conclusion:

Although I don't believe in such things, but this instance seems to be accurate because all of my SHNI applications which got an allotment are accounts of women.
