Thanks swaroop (387)... Wonder ful and detailed explanation. It is an eye opener to people shouting on this board against you without knowing anything. Seeing the figures at 2 PM I decided to skip the issue, But transformer I applied and the allotment is difficult. Keep the good work going for other IPO s also.

There have been queries as to how I am obtaining data regarding oversubscription. I will try to explain the same here under.

Subscription data is given out by BSE and also NSE on their individual websites. It is available in three time frames. 1) Once in a day 2) Once every hour and is available with a time lag of 15 to 20 minutes 3) Live data which is available with a time lag of 5 to 10 minutes.

The first two i.e once a day and once every hour can be seen on either of the websites as the information is given in a combined manner.

For getting live data however you will have to open both the websites and garner information from each site add them up to know the subscription data. I give the procedure to be followed for knowing subscription details hereunder.

Retail investors and persons applying under employee quota are the only one’s who are allowed to bid at cutoff price. Hence to know the retail subscription you have to look at the data given against cutoff in case of NSE site and in the case of BSE site you have to look for data given against 9999(this is how cutoff is designated in BSE site).

Then NSE site gives total bids received data. Also BSE site gives data with heading BSE bid quantity. Add both and divide by no. of shares on offer you will have overall subscription.

FII’s, HNI’s, QIB’s data will not be available under any classification. Hhowever it is possible to deduce this data by deducting total retail quantity bids at a particular time with the corresponding total bid quantity. The resulting difference when divided by quantity allocated to them you will have subscription data for others.
Hope explanation is sufficient.
Thanks.
Regards to all.

Data from NSE site

Total Issue Size 9136000
Total Bids Received 1054271162
Total Bids Received at Cut-off Price 111548360
No. of times issue is subscribed 115.40

Can somebody explain when we take Total Bids Received, it is coming to 115.40 times. But when we consider Total Bids Received at Cut-off Price 111548360, the subscription is only 1.26 times

Oversubscription data at 8.10 today is as follows.
Retail Category at cut-off: 40.81 times
Overall : 114.75 times
Others : 155.36 times ( includes FII's, QIB's, HNI's etc)

Please note : Retail at cut off will be overstated to the extent of employee subscription as they have a reservation for 5 lakh shares and they are also allowed to bid at cutoff. Hence retail subscription cannot be given exactly and exact oversubscription can be known only at the end of the when authorities compile and declare the data.
My source of data is official website of NSE and BSE.
